R128 CITY OF KENNEDALE RESOLUTION NO. 128 BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS, CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF A MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF KENNEDALE ON MAY 5, 2001 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING THREE COUNCIL MEMBERS. WHEREAS, heretofore on the 8th day of February, 2001 the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, called for an election to be held in said City on the 5th day of May 2001 for the purpose of electing a three Council Members; and WHEREAS, said election was duly held at the time and place specified after due notice as required by law had been given by posting and publication; and WHEREAS, there were voted at said election a total of 304 ballots, on which ballot votes were cast as follows: FOR COUNCIL - PLACE 1 (Two Year Term) W.E. (Bill) Atchley 129 votes; John Clark 163 votes; FOR COUNCIL — PLACE 3 (Two Year Term) Perry D. Hoover 205 votes; FOR COUNCIL - PLACE 5 (Two Year Term) George H. Barrett 146 votes; T.L. (Tommy) Drake 36 votes; Ronnie Nowell 85 votes; as is reflected by the election returns theretofore filed with the City Secretary; and WHEREAS, only qualified electors of the City of Kennedale, Texas, were allowed to vote in said election: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS: 1. That said election was duly called; that notice was given in accordance with law and that the election was held in accordance with law; that due return of said election has been made by the proper officers; and that the qualified electors of the City of Kennedale, Texas, voting in said election, have duly elected John Clark, Perry D. Hoover, and George H. Barrett as Council Members of the City of Kennedale, Texas. 2. That the said John Clark is hereby declared to be elected to the Office of Council Place 1 of the City of Kennedale, Texas for a term of office of two- years. 3. That the said Perry D. Hoover is hereby declared to be elected to the Office of Council Place 3 of the City of Kennedale, Texas for a term of office of two- years. 4. That the said George H. Barrett is hereby declared to be elected to the Office of Council Place 5 of the City of Kennedale, Texas for a term of office of two - years. ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 10 day of May 2001.
