AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS
DEFINING THE COMMON BOUNDARY OF THE CITY OF
KENNEDALE AND THE CITY OF ARLINGTON;
PROVIDING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE
CUMULATIVE OF ALL OTHER ORDINANCES;
PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City of Kennedale, Texas is a home rule city acting under its
charter adopted by the electorate pursuant to Article XI, Section 5 of the Texas
Constitution and Chapter 9 of the Texas Local Government Code; and
WHEREAS, the cities of Arlington and Kennedale are adjacent municipalities
which wish to make a mutually agreeable change in their boundaries and establish a
common boundary line reflecting their respective city limits; and
WHEREAS, the City Council previously approved an Interlocal Agreement with
Arlington which determined and agreed to a boundary defining the common boundary
of the jurisdictions, as such is defined under Texas LOCAL GOVERNMENT CODE §43.031.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
SECTION 1.
The city limits of Kennedale and Arlington shall be mutually adjusted to form a
common, contiguous boundary whereby Kennedale shall include in its city limits all of
the 1.018 acres parcel shown on Exhibit A, and Arlington shall retain in its city limits
property to the west, north and east of the common boundary line. The new boundary
is further depicted on Exhibits B-1 and B-2.
SECTION 2.
From and after the effective date of this ordinance, the property described in
Exhibit A shall be within the city limits of Kennedale. This ordinance shall have no effect
upon any other property now lying within the city limits of either municipality.
SECTION 3.
This ordinance shall become effective upon approval of the mutual boundary
adjustment by the councils of both cities. This ordinance shall become null and void if
no action is taken by the city of Arlington within 120 days of the date of adoption by the
city of Kennedale.

Being a 1.018 acre tract of land situated in the Lawrence Ramey Survey,
Abstract Number 1336, and the M.P. Lamar Survey, Abstract Number 987,
Tarrant County, Texas, in the Cities of Arlington and Kennedale, and being a
portion of a 19.384 acre tract of land as described in the deed to Wal-Mart
Stores Texas, LP, as filed in Volume 16278, Page 109, Deed Records of a
Tarrant County, Texas, said 1.018 acre tract being more particularly described ~
as follows:
BEGINNING at a 5/8 inch iron rod with a yellow plastic cap stamped
"Dunaway Assoc, Inc." found for the point of intersection of the southerly
right-of-way line of Interstate Highway 20 (a variable width right-of-way)
with the curving westerly right-of-way line of Little School Road (a variable
width right-of-way) in anon-tangent curve to the left, the radius point of ;
said curve being situated South 59'28'29" East a distance of 1174.92 from
said point;
THENCE with the westerly right-of-way line of Little School Road
Southwesterly at an arc distance of 33.25 feet passing a TxDOT Monument
found for corner in all through a central angle of 05'54'58" an arc distance
of 121.32 feet with a chord bearing of South 27'34'02"West and a chord
distance of 121.26 feet to a point for corner; -
THENCE departing the westerly right-of-way line of Little School Road South t
68'33'03" West a distance of 21.47 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE North 67'08'31" West a distance of 174.64 feet to a point for corner;
THENCE North 2701'35" West a distance of 22.94 feet to a point for corner,
