President Vaughn called the meeting to order at 7:05 p.m. Members present: Nita Vaughn, Robert P. Mundy, John Berry, Margaret Eichelberger and Ron Kovach. Members absent: Rob Morris Staff present: David Miller, Acting City Manager A. REGULAR ITEMS President Vaughn moved item three prior to item one due to interview. 3. Consider interviews and recommendation to City Council for appointment of new Board Member. Board members questioned potential candidate for economic development board vacancye John Berry moved to forward a recommendation to City Council to appoint Mr. Dempsy i~,.,,, Farmer to Place 7 with a term to expire in 2003, second by Robert Mundy. Motion carried. 1. Approval of minutes: regular meeting dated March 19, 2002, and special meeting dated June 5, 2002. Ron Kovach moved to accept the minutes as presented, second by John Berry. Motion carried unanimously. 2. Review financial reports. Month end reports ending May 2002 were provided to the Board of Directors for review. A brief discussion followed with questions arising regarding the reduction in sales tax over the last two months. Staff will review and provide an answer at the next meeting. Ron Kovach moved to approve financial reports, second by Margaret Eichelberger. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Consider purchase of property on Mansfield Highway. Board members discussed several parcels available for purchase along the Mansfield Highway. It was noted that the properties carry a zoning classification of general commercial and are currently leased. 139 Discussion continued regarding taxable value and market value, and it was suggested that ~ a counter offer be prepared as a total package, excluding the property located at 400 W. Mansfield Highway. ?t Next, board members requested that staff address legal counsel regarding whether the corporation can buy and/or sell property less or greater than market value, and define who is responsible for obtaining liability insurance, the corporation or the city. 5. Consider purchase of 26 acres on Hudson Village Creek. A brief discussion took placed regarding a 26-acre parcel available for purchase on Hudson Village Creek. It was noted that water and sewer are accessible to the property and the property carries a zoning classification of General Commercial. B.
