CITY OF KENNEDALE
RESOLUTION NO.178
BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS,
CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING RESULTS OF A
MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF KENNEDALE ON
MAY 15, 2004 FOR THE PURPOSE OF ELECTING A MAYOR AND
TWO COUNCIL MEMBERS.
WHEREAS, heretofore on the 12`" day of February 2004, the City Council of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, called for an election to be held in said City on the 15t'' day of May 2004 for
the purpose of electing a Mayor and two Council Members; and
WHEREAS, said election was duly held at the time and place specified after due notice
as required by law had been given by posting and publication; and
WHEREAS, there were voted at said election a total of 1,036 ballots, on which ballot
votes were cast as follows:
FOR MAYOR (Two Year Term)
Mark S. Wright 353 votes;
Jim Norwood 672 votes;
FOR COUNCIL -PLACE 2 (Two Year Term)
Nita Vaughn 361 votes;
David Green 670 votes;
FOR COUNCIL -PLACE 4 (Two Year Term)
Ray Cowan 377 votes;
Ronnie Nowell 639 votes
as is reflected by the election returns theretofore filed with the City Secretary; and
WHEREAS, only qualified electors of the City of Kennedale, Texas, were allowed to
vote in said election:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
1. That said election was duly called; that notice was given in accordance with the law
and that the election was held in accordance with law; that due return of said election has been

made by the proper officers; and that the qualified electors of the City of Kennedale, Texas voting
in said election, have duly elected Jim Norwood as Mayor, David Green, and Ronnie Nowell as
Council Members of the City of Kennedale, Texas.
2. That the said Jim Norwood is hereby declared to be elected to the Office of Mayor
for the City of Kennedale, Texas for a term of office of two years.
3. That the said David Green is hereby declared to be elected to the Office of Council
Place 2 of the City of Kennedale, Texas for a term of office oftwo-years.
4. That the said Ronnie Nowell is hereby declared to be elected to the Office of Council
Place 4 of the City of Kennedale, Texas for a term of office oftwo-years.
