The meeting was duly called to order at 5:00 P. T-1. by the T~Iayor. Upon a roll ca.11 of councilmen, Councilmen Evans, Flake, Turner, T-lorris and ?.~Tinters and T•Zayor tidebb were present; no councilmen. were absent. The City Secretary was asked to read the r~ixiutes of the previous meeting, to wit, the regular meeting of September 7, 1951. Upon completion of the reading of the minutes of the reg- ular meeting of September 7, 1951, there being no objections or omissions noted to the same, the said minutes were proclait::ed to stand approved as read. ~. Tin. T•c Piahon, the bond broker for the City of l~ennedale, was present and gave a report upon the bond market in respect to the selling of the bonds which l~~ennedale has voted and is in the process of issuing. T~s. T•icT~ahon reported that the bond market is again in an situation where purchasers are seeking bcnds. ~.s a consequence of this condition, T'-~r.T•ic~~allon urged that the City proceed with t~~. assessments as rapidly as possible. 3. ~ihe I~iayor called the councilts a:Etention to the fact that Tin. J. ~.. 1raCsr~ of the J. !'.. Tracy r"Lppraisal Compax~y of La11as, Teas, had made written application for contract to make a tax appraisal on all real property in the City of Lenned::le. T.r. T-icT~ahon recommemded the employment of a professional appr«i sal company and further recommended T~s. J. r~. Tracy as a qualified appraiser. :'meter thoro~h dis- cussion of the topic, the City Council instructed the legal advisor to contact the J. n. Tracy 1".ppraisal Company and determine the terms and conditions ,upon ti~rhich that firm would perform the tam appraisal work desired. Li.. T~`s. Leroy Cooper spoke in behalf of the l~ennedale Volunteer Fire Department and requested of the City that title to the fire truck be transferred to the 'Jolun- Leer Fire Department. Councilman Flake duly moved that the City transfer title of the said truck together with its fire fighting equipment, to the Volunteer Fire Department ~roveded that the Volunteer Fi~~e Department agrees to render all reason- able fire protection measures possible and to fight all fires in the City of t v I=ennedale e~.t no e,~mense to the City nor the citizens thereof for ~. period of five years from date. The motion was duly seconded byT Councils~an Turner. Upon vote taken, the motion passed by unanv:lous vote.. 5.
