The meeting was duly called to order at g;00 P. Ti. by the I ~a~ror. Upon a ro11 call of councilmen, councilmmen Evans, F1ai,e, T~~iorris, Turner and T~ayor °debb were present; Counci?~nan ~~iinters was absent. The City Secretary eras asked to read the minutes of the previous meet~x~.g, to-wit; the regular meetir~ of I~ugtzst 3, 1951. Upon completion of the reading of the minutes of the regular meeting of August 3, 1951, there being no objections or omissions noted to the same, the said minutes were procla3xied to stand approved as read. 2. I~r. Guy Draughon, a representative of the Lone Star Gas Company of Fort j~dorth, Texas, Tarrant County, Texas, was present. T~s. Draughon presented an executed instrument by the Lone Star Gas Company accepting the amendment to the Lone Star Gas Company franchise passed upon T'~ugust 3, 1951, by the City Council. 3. I~~. Grant, of Freeze and I~?ichols Engineering firrii, was present and upon request presented two different engineering drafts of the proposed city water works including the well, pwnp, reservoir and tank, and requested that the City Council make a selection between the two systems. Co~tnci7lnan Evans moved that the engineering plan whereby- the reservoir and ptunp was located upon the front of the lot and the tank was located upon the back of the lot be selected. Councilman Flake duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken the said motion passed by unanimous vote of all councilmen present. !~. I~.r. I~liller, of the ~Tikings Supply Compar~y of Dallas, Texas, was present, and suggested the use of asbestos cement pipe irz the installation of the pre- posed water works. Councilman E~rans moved that a committee from among the members of the City Council be appointed to investigate the advisability of the use of asbestos cement pipe and to determine the amount in footage needed. Councilman Turner duly seconded the r:.otion and upon vote taken the same was .~: unanimously passed by all councilmen present. 74 5. In s.ccord~nce (with the preceed~azg motion, ~'iayor ,;ebb appointed Council- men Evans, Tu1^ner and Fl~ce upon the coi_u:Littee to investigate the advisability of the use of asbestos cement pine in the inst~~ll~.tion of a. water system. b. Upon motion du7_y made, seconded and carried, the meeting adjourned at 10:15 ~ .
