MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALE, TEXAS,
ox MARCx z, 1951
1. The meeting was duly called to order at 8s00 P. M. by the Mayor.
Upon a ro11 call of councilmen, Councilmen E{rans, Turner and Winters and Mayor
Webb were present, Counci]anan Middlei~on and Councilman Morris were absent. The
City Secretary was asked to read the minutes of the previous meeting, to-wit,
the regular meeting of January 5, 1951, and the special meeting of February 8,
1951. Upon the cosz-pletion of the reading of the minutes of the said regular
meeting of January 5, 1951, and the said special meeting of February 8, 1951,
and there being no objections or omissions noted to the same, the said minutes
were proclaimed to stand approved as read.
2. It was brought to the attention of the City Council that there
exists as old public well on a vacant lot near the center of the City of Kenne-
dale, which is uncovered and unguarded. It was called to the attention of the
City Council that the well constitutes and is a public hazard to the City,
creating a danger to the public in its present condition. Councilman Winters
regularly moved that the City cause the said well to be plugged with cement in
such a manner so as to remove the hazardous condition. Councilman Turner duly
seconded the motion. Upon vote taken the said motion was passed by unani~+ous
vote by all councilmen present.
3. Councilman Evans regularly moved that the City of Kennedale purchase
two police caps to be worn by the two laxa enforcing officers employed by the City.
Councilman Twiner duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken the mr~tion was
passed by unanimous vote of all councilmen present.
4. Mr. A. C. Bolin presented his application to the City- Council for
the position of Assistant Marshall of the City of Kennedale. After_exausted
discussion of the needs and requirements of another police enforcing officer and

after receiving a report from Marshall Frank Bedford recommending that another
law enforcing officer be employed, Councilman Evans regularly moved that A. C.
Bu1in be employed as deputy marshall on a full time basis and that his salary
be set at X60.00 per week. Councilman Turner duly seconded the motion and upon
vote taken the motion was passed by unanimous vote of all councilmen present.
~. Mr. A. C. Bulin was called forward and the oath of office was
administered by the Mayor.
6. The following bill in addition to the regular monthly bills was
submitted to the City Council for payment:
1. Membership fee in the Texas League of
municipalities - - - - - - - - - - - - - - X23.00
All salaries heretofore approved were also submitted for payment. The motion
was made by Councilman Winters that said payments be authorized and ordered
paid. Councilman Turner duly seconded the motion and the same was passed
by unanimous vote by all councilmsi~ present.
7. Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the meeting ad-
