AZINUTES OF THE SPECT~L MEETI'i~TG OF THE
CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' KEDTNEDALE,
TE~.n_S, AUGUST 26, 1952•
1. The meeting was duly called to order at 8:00 p.m. by the Niayor
after waiver of notice of said special meeting was signed by all the members of the
said council.
2. Representatives of both cast iron pipe and asbestoes-cement pipe
were present and each representative presented the advantages of each type of pipe,
councilman Foust made a motion that cast iron ?pipe be used in the waterworks system.
Councilman Winters duly seoonded the motion and upon vote taken there were L; ayes
and 1 no; the motion therefore passed.
3. Study was duly made of the various bids received on August 25,
1952, by the City of Kennedale for the construction of a water works system. After
consultation with the Engineer was had, Councilman Faust moved that the contract, ,.
with certain alterations, be awarded to Roy N1. I~iitcheLl Contracting Company of Tyler
Texas at a contract price of ;83,058.17, that firm being the lowest bidder. The fol-
lowing alterations in the plans and specifications are to be made: (1} I.n item num-
ber 12, the nusriber of meters to be purchased is changed from 200 to 125; (2) Items
15, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28 are to be deleted altogether. Councilman Winters duly
seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed.
Upon motion dul~p made and seconded the meeting adjourned at 11:00 p.P~I.
