06.06.1952 CC Minutes~V~ MINUTES OF THE REGULAR riEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS, ON JUNE 6, 1952 1. The meeting was duly called to order ~t $:00 p.m. by the Mayor. Upon roll call of Councilmen, Councilman Davis, Foust, Turpin, Bulin, Winters and NTayor Webb were present. No councilmen were absent. 2. The Mayor made the announcer~ient that Mrs. A. S. Flake, City Secretary and Tax Collector of the City of Kennedale had resigned. 3. Councilman Davis made a motion that Garrett Middlebrook be appointed temporary City Secretary. Councilman Turpin duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed. 1~. NIr. Meyers of the Texas Electric Service Company was present and presented a proposed ordinance which was in the nature of a contract between his said company and the City of Kennedale whereby said Texas Electric Service Compas~y agreed to furnish the necessary electricity for the water works pumping system at 22 cents per kilowat hour with a X25.00 minimum charge during each pay period. After the terms and conditions of said proposed ordinance were thoroughly discussed, Councilman Turpin moved that the same be approved and adopted. Councilman Foust duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed. 5. Councilman Foust made a motion that A11ene~ Langford be appoint- ed City Secretary and Tax Assessor-Collector for the City of Kennedale. Councilman T~dinters duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same wasun~nimously passed. 6. The City Council instructed the legal adviser to prepare and present to it for approval at the next regular meeting an ordinance regulat- ing the sale of merchandise in the City of l~ennedale by itinerant peddlers. 7. Councilman Winters made a motion that the next regular meeting of the City Council be head on July 3, 1952, at $:00 a.m. instead of ~~o ~ Ju7Yy 4, 1952, the later said date being Independence Day. Councilman Davis seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed.
