N.CLNUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE (QTY OF
KENNEDALE, TEXAS ON JUNE 2, 1952
1. The meeting was du1.y ca]1ed to order at 8:00 p.m. by the
Mayor after waiver of notice of said meeting was signed by all members
of the council. Upon roll call of the council, Councilmen Davis, Foust,
Turpin, Bulin, Winters and Mayor Trdebb were present. No councilmen were
absent.
2. Mayor Webb announced that pursuant to the waiver of notice
du]~y executed by aLl members of said conucil, this meeting was called for
the following purposes:
(1) To adopt a connecting fee to be charged by
The City of Kennedale for the connecting of
each water customer to the main water line.
(2) To adopt and approve or reject plans and
specifications as proposed by Freese and Nichols,
Engineers, for the installation of an elevated
steel tank as a part of the waterworks system
and to authorize the publication of said plans
and specifications for bids and to fix a date
for opening said bids.
(3) To approve or disapprove the engineering con-
tract submitted by Freese and Nichols.
3. After proper consultation with Mr. Grant of Freese and Nichols
and after exhaustive discussion, Councilman Foust moved that Ordinance
Number relating to the charge to be assessed and collected by the
city for the connecting of each water customer to themain water line be
adopted. Councilman Davis du],y seconded the motion and upon vote taken the
same was unanimously passed.
~.. Councilman Foust moved that the plans and specifications sub-
matted by Freese and Nichols for the erection and installation of a steel
tower and steel tank for water storage as a part of the water system be
approved. Councilman Turpin duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken '
the same was unanimously passed.

5. Councilman Winters moved that Freese and Nichols be authorized
to publish said plans and specifications of said tower and tank for sealed
bids and that termination date for submission of bids be June 23rd at $:00
p:m., at which times bids are to be opened. Councilman Davis du]tip seconded
the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed.
6. Councilman Foust moved that the engineering contract submitted
by Freese and Nichols for engineering fees in connection with the water
system be accepted, said engineering fee being specified at €30 of the con-
struction cost of the project, and that Mayor Webb be authorized and direct-
ed to execute said contract for and on behalf of the city. Councilman Bulin
duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed.
Upon motion du1,y made and seconded the meeting was adjourned at
11:00 p.m.
