09.17.1953 CC Minutes~~~,`2 I~2INiTTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KEIVNEDALE, TEXAS ON SEPTEMBER 17, 1853 1. The meeting was duly called to order at 8FM by the Mayor after waiver of notice of said special meeting was signed by all members of said Council. Upon a roll call of the Council, Councilman Turpin, Foust, Brown, Davis and Mayor Bulin were poresent. Councilman Peterman was absent. 2. Councilman Turpin duly made a motion to approve and adopt Ordinance No._____ altering the speed limit for vehicles upon the streets and highways of Kennedale based upon an engineering and traffic inves- t~gation and survey made by the State Highway Department of the State of Texas. Councilman Brown duly sesended the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed. 3. Councilman Turpin made a motion that the penalty for excessive speeding be assessed against violators upon conviction at X1.00 per mile in excess of the lawful speed limit up to and including a speed of 70 miles per hour and X1.50 per mile in excess of 70 miles per hour. Councilman Foust duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed. Upon motion duly made and seconded and passed, the meeting adhourned at 10:00 P.M.
