MINUTES OF THE SFECIAL 1!!EETING
OF THE CITY COUNCIL lCF THE
CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS
ON FEBF~TARY 25, 1953
1. The meeting was duly called to order at g:P.It~. by the Mayor
after Waiver of notice of said special meeting was signed by all
members of said Council. Upon a roll call of the Council, Council-
man Davis, Foust, Turp~n, Hulin, Winters and Mayor Webb vaere
present. Pdo Councilmen were absent.
2. Represenatives of the Engineering firm of Freese and Nichols
were present and reported that excess quanities of fine sand was
being pumped from the water well~as a result of standard pumpt~ng
tests made. The engineers advised that should this sand continue
to be pumped after the water system is placed in effect that there
is a possibility of damage as a result thereof to the pump and
water meters.
After thorough disans~~inn of the above facts, Councilman
Bulin made a motion that the Layne-Texas Corporation Be instruc-
ted to check concrete and lead seals in the well and pipes to
determine if they are sand tight. This motion was made with the
understanding that this check be made by Layne Texas Corporation
at no cost to the City of Kennedale. The motion was made with the
further understanding Freese and I~iichols are assuming no responsi-
bility of damage to the system due to sand infiltration into the
pump or metes. Councilman Davis duly seconded the motion and
ur;on vote taken the same was unanimously passed.
3. Councilman Foust made a motion that the ordinance presented
to the Council presented to the Council this date relating to
charges for the connection of private water lines to the maim
water line and meter deposits, as well as ~¢ertain restrictions
to be enforced against the size of the private lines authorized
be passed, approved and put into immediate effect. Councilman

Bulin duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same
was unanimously passed.
~.. Councilman Bulin made a motion that the sunroof X795.63 be
transferred from the CTeneral Tax Fund Wank Account into the Sinking
Fund Tax Bond Account for the purpose of making ~a~ment of the
interest due on the tax bonds. Councilman Davis duly seconded
the motion and upon vote taken the same was unanimously passed.
5. Councilman Bulin made a motion that the City Clerk be
instructed to make it known to the public that the City Council
will condider applications for the job of ~"dater Superintendent
for the City of Kennedale, Texas on march 6, 1953 at 8P.Pr~..
Councilman t`~inters duly seconded the motion and upon vote taken
the same was unanimously passed.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and passed the meeting was
adjurned at 11:00 P.M.
