KENNEDALE, TEXAS April 6th, 1956
The meeting was called to order by the r~ia.yor, V.x. Turpin. After a roll
call of the Council councilmen Bulin, Cunningham, and Boyd were present. Councilman
Davis and roust were absent.
The minutes of the last meeting were read by the City Secretary. in~ater erupt
Webb reccommended pa~~ment of the sum of $13,8o3.~.5 to J.L..Myers Sons for the
drilling of the water well. councilman Boyd made a rr~otion to this efi'ect and
Councilman Bulin seconded the motion and upon iaotetaken the same was passed unan-
imously by all members present.
Councilman Bulin made a motion that the council have the mayor sign the
oT-~dinance which the State highway requested for the widening of the highway 287
through the city. Councilman Cunningham seconded the motion and upon vote taken
the same was passed unanimously by all members present.
Councilmen Boyd made a motion that the City purchase a new typeweiter and
Bulin seconded the motion- Passed unanimously.
Fire Chief Peterman and Bob ~'orcoran of the Volunteer Fire Uenartment
were present and requested the city to pipe water to the Fire y,all. Councilman
Bulin made a motion that this be done and Councilman Boyd seconded the motion
and upon vote taken the same was passed unanimously br al.l members present.
A canvass of the votes was taken and approved and found to be in order. l;ayor
Turpin then swore in the newly elected l'layor and the two new council members who
were elected at the April 3rd city election. Mayor Norman T Childres was s~tarn in
to the office of 1~layor and Steve Radakavich and Dirs. May Ward were took the oath
for Place 1 and Place 2 on the ~ouncil.....At this point Mayor Turpin turned the
meeting over to the new '"~ayor, i~orman ~.i' Childres.
Cou.ncilma.n Radakavich made a motion that the Council make a ruling that in
the event a city councilman missed three consecutive meetings without a legitimate
excuse that he or she might be asked for his resignation. j'irs. Ward seconded the
motion and upcn vote taken the same was passed unanimously.

The City Secretary was asked to contact I%r. Clyde i~iarshall an attorney who
has been reccar~sr!ended_ to the city and discuss appointing; him the attorney for
the City.
Mayor Childres appointed Councilman Bulin as Mayor Protein.
The meeting, adjourned at 9:45 PM
