JANUARY 6, 1956
The meeting was called to order by the ~iayor~ V.A. Turpin and and after
a roll call of the Council, the following mem:;ers were present.
Councilmen Bulin~ Cunningham, Davis. Councilmen Boya and Foust were absent.
1. councilman Bulin made a motion thath the City a ccept plan Tdol as
reccom¢nended by Trje enineer-ing firm of Freese and idichols in regard to the
screening of the water sand in the new well. Davis seconded the motion and
upon vote taken the sane was passed unani~eusly by all members present.
Jack P1cKnight was present as a represenative of ten residents who liQe
outside the city limits and asked for reassurance that the city w ould f~~rnish
these said people with Laater from the city water wells. These said people to
furnish their lines and water meters. The council agreed to do so if the r
test proved that there would be a sufficient supply. This test will take several
weeks and after that time they agreed to notify I~Ir. i-lcKnight of their decisiion.
r°Ir. Louglas~ Nir. D.,vidson and Fletcher Johnson were present and made the same
request and i~hey were advised that they would be notified at the same. time.
A discussion took place regarding the legality of the City Police Officers
issuing tickets while using their private automobile. Councilman Bulin
made a motion that the officers refrain from doing so until such time as the
legality of such a procedure was determined. Davis seconded the motion and
upon vote taken the same arras passed unanssr~ously.
The Council gave the i~iayor the full right toi,l~ire the city police fot~ the
City of iiennedale Police Departraent.
