KENNEDALE, TEXAS, OCTOBER 4, 195
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, N.T. Childres at 8PM:
After a roll call of the Council the following members were found to be
present: Councilmen Bolin, Cunningham, Radakevich and Mrs. [~Jard. Councilman
Davis was absent.
Mrs. Elmer Stark, Mrs. Jim tidarren and Mrs. E.M. Houston°were present
and asked the council what steps would be necessary in order that their
section of the community might harts accces to Kennedale water. They w ere>
told to circulate a petition among all the property owners and request
annexation into the City of Kennedale.
Another group from the 01i~¢er acres a ddition east of the city p ~~esented a
petition signed by eleven property owners requesting a nne.~cation. Trey
were given a tentative a.nproval and instructed to go ahead with the legal
work necessary before annexation may be obtained.
T•Ir. Charlie ~'iirner asked for an exclusive franchise .for garbage pickap.
The City secretary vas instructed to consult the C--ty Attorney regarding
the matter.
I~~1r. Cousins with the Layne-Texas Co was present on request of water Su~bt.
~Tebb and a general discussion took place regarding the repairing of [dell No 1
~,thich has been out of order for some time. They agreed to make a final decision
at a later date.
Councilman Bolin made a motion to adopt Ordinance No. 57-8 relative to
~e 1957 tax assessments. Mrs. ~rlard seconded the motion and upon vote taken the
same vas passed unanimously.
Councilman Radakovich made a motion to employ John Cason to assist Warrant
Officer t'~ahanay. Councilman Cunningham seconded the motion and upon vote taken
