The meeting was called to order by the city Secretary, Mrs. Langford in the
absence of Mayor Childres. After a roll call of the Council the following members
were found to be present: Councilmen Cunningham Harper, Radakovich and Ratliff.
Councilman Davis and Mayor ~hildres were absent.
Councilman Harper made a motion to appoint J.W. Ratliff Mayor Protein. Councilman
Radakovich seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was passed unanimously.
Mayor Pro Tem Ratliff then took charge of the meeting,
A group of residents who reside on the east side of Kennedale presented the
Council with a list of fifteen property owners who are desirous of being annexed into
the City. After a roll gs~eral discussion it was agreed that Councilman Radakovich
and Harper would call upon these people in the near future and explain further the legal
steps necessary to bring this about,
Claud Estes with the Estes Engineering Company was present with preliminary plans
for a sewer system. He was instructed to go ahead with further investigation and to
conduct a survey and give an estimate of the co$t of the entire project at the next
meeting. Mr. Estes agreed to do this without cost to the city.
Mr. J.T. Couch presented a plat of an extension to the Hilldale addition for
approval. After examining said plat Councilman Harper made a motion to approve
same, Councilman Cunningham seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was
passed unanimously by all members present.
Mr. Tommy L Gay presented a piitttion for annexation of 19 acres of property
in the M.F. Hcctt Survey, ~e also a t the same time presented a plat of same
addition for approval. Councilman Harper made a motion to adopt Ordinance No, 58-1
relative to the annexation of the Gay property, councilman Radakovich seconded the
motion and upon vote taken the same was passed unanimously byall members present.
Councilman Cunningham made a motifjn to appavre the plat and Harper seconded the motion
and same was passed unanimously.
The Council set up a zoning commission and appointed the foll~rrin= list of
persons to act on this committee. Harold Evans, Ron Helfenstine, H.L. Fields.
Police Chief Usrey suggested to the Council ,that an Ordinance be passed
relative to loitering or a curfew law. He was instructed to consult the ~'ity
attorne~c and have such an ordinance prepared.
Councilman Radakovich made a motion to employ Royce Self as a part time policeman.
~'ouncilman Cunningham seconded the motion and same was passed unanimously.
The meeting adjourned at 1Os30. PM
