C.TY COUNCIL, APRIL 4, 1958
The meeting was called to order by the 1'2ayor N.T. Childres at 8PM:
After a roll call of the Council the following members were found to be present:
Councilmen Davis, Cunningham, Radakovich and Mrs. Ward. No members were absent.
The minutes of the February meeting were read by the City secretary as
there was no meeting in March due to the absenee of all members except Mrs.
Ward.
Councilman Radakovich made a motion to ~alapti8+est~$at~ans~a~~_~~-8fcing
fobetha~:~ahv~ss~ng of the votes in the city election on April lst, 1958.
Mrs. Ward seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same w as passed
unanimously.
Mayor Childres expressed his appreciation to the members of the Council
who have served for the past two years; for their regular attendance , their
cooperation and cited their various projects that were undertaken and accomplished
while they were in office.
At this point the City Secretary administered the oath of office to the
incoming Mayor and to the three Councilmen. Mayor Childres who was reelected
to the office of ly`ayor, Councilman Radakovich whoya.sr~lected for a term of two
years, Gene Harper who was elected for a term of two years and to J.W. R&tliff
who was elected to fill in Tomrr~y Bulin~s unexpired term.
The meeting of the old Council adjo~rrned at 8:45 PM
Councilman Radakovich made a motion that a charge of $50.00 be made
for a water tap. Having been instructed by water superintendant Webb that
the present charge was not meeting the cost of installation. Councilman Harper
seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same was passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Steve Radakovich to employ ancextra police officer
to assist Officer Young on Friday and Saturday nights. Councilman Ratliff
seconded the motion and upon vote taken the same~as passed unanimously;

NL~.yor Childres asked Councilman Harper and Ratliff to call
upon School Supt Scott and attempt to work out a plan to use school
boys as patrolmen.
There was a general discussion relative to the laying of a sewer
for the city of Kennedale. The City secretary was asked tb notify Bob
Nichols with Freese and Nichols Engineering Co to meet with the Council
at the day meeting and begin preliminary proceedings on such a project
in order to ascettain the estimated costs etc.
