11.12.1964 CC Minutes325 REGULAR MBETING 06 KBNNEDALS CITY COUNCIL NOVEMEER 12, 1964 The meeting opened at 7:40 PM with Mayor Pro-Tem V,i.ck. presiding as Mayor Webb was absent for the first. 30 minutes of the meeting. Other Councilmen present vreres L. V. Flake, H. L. Hatton and AauL. Wi#~tQns. Mr. Helm being the only absent C®uncilman. The minutes for the last regular meeting were read and approved. The minutes of the special meeting were read and approved. _ 1. Eill Cromer came before the Council and proposed that the City of Kennedale pay $5,000.00 toward the purchase sf a new fire truck with the Volunteer Fire Department paying the balance of the total cost. H. L. Hatten made the motion and it was seconded by'k. V.. Flake; the motion carried. 2. Mr. Cromer also asked that six new fire coats b e purchased at $30.00 per coat. Paul Winters made the motion that the coats b e purchased by the city and to be fit and distributed by the Fire. Marshall. H. L.~ Hatt®n made the second and the motion carried. 3. Mr. Marshall advised that a vote be taken on Kennedale Ordinance #64-11, adopting the Jackson land. Motion was made by Paul Winters and H. L. Hatton seconded. The motion carried. 4. Councilman Flake made the motion to adopt Resolution #64-5, sett- ing a time f®r a public hearing to annex properties belonging to Leach, Hayes, Horton, and A. C. Bolen or any others along Eowman Springs and Kennedlae Little School Roads; that wish to be annexed. - The time agreed upon was December 10, 1964. Paul Winters made the second. Motion carried. 5. A general discussion ,took place concerning a city planning pro- gram.. Mr. Eart Bradford, of Morris Parker Associates, brought be- foze the Council a plan, if adopted, that would guide the city in preparing for the future of Kennedale; including a new school and recreatdon ground far the .youth..
