10.08.1964 CC Minutes322 REGULAR MBETING OF THfi KBNNBDALB CITY OOUNCIL OCTOaBR 8, 1964 The meeting was opened at 7:30 PM with a prayer led by Councilman Flake. The foll©wing members were present; Councilman Flake, Vick, Winters, and Hatton. Councilman Helm was absent. is Mrs. George C. Jackson was present and discussion was held con- cerning the annexation of her property. Paul Winters made a motion to serve the Jackson's with water temporarily until the property is annexed. Councilman Flake seconded the motion. Motion carried. 2: Motion cazried to adopt Kennedale Resolution #64-4, setting a public hearing for the annexation of the George C. Jackson Land October 29, 1964. 3: Mr. Al H. nalch was present to discuss erecting his garage 18" of his South property line. Councilman Flake made the motion to permit the building of the garage. Councilman Hatton seconded the motion. Councilman Winters and Vick voted against it. Mayor Webb voted for it and the motion carried. 4: The Council authorized Mr. Marshall to take necessary steps to annex properties owned by Mr. Leach, Mr. Hayes, Mr. Horton and Kurt A. Meer. S:Mayor Webb recommended that a letter be written to the State Highway Department endorsing the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce Metropolitan Highway Depart's recommendations. Motion carried. 6: Dr. Harris was contacted on the subject of closing the alley between Kennedy Street and New Hope Road, Dr. Harris being opposed, the Council decided to decline closing the alley for the time being . 7s Councilman Hatton made the motion that the meeting adjourn.
