REGULAR MEBTING OF THE KENNBDALE CITY OOUNCIL
SBPTBMdER 10, 1964
Mayor Webb called the meeting to order at 8:30 PM. Councilmen
Flak e, Hatton, Vick and Winters were present. Councilman Helm
was absent.
lz Mr. J. H. Martin was present and requested closing of the alley
between Kennedy Street and New Hope Road. Council discussed the
matter. Decision will b e made after contacting Dr. Harris, Adjoin-
ing property owner.
2z Mr. Folmar was present and inquired about procedure of the City
in installation of water lines in sub-divisions.
3: Council discussed and agreed to have city attorney, Clyde Marshall,
stazt proceedings to annex Abstract 1375 3~ock 54F Shelby County
School Survey,Mr. George C. Jackson. Annexation fee is to be paid
by George C. Jackson.
4: Councilman Flake made a motion to authorize Mayor Webb to borrow
$4500.00 from the Mansfield State Sank for the purpose of enlarging
the City Hall. The $4500.00 to b e paid at $75.00 per month~includ-
ing interest of 596 payable on or before the 20th day of the month.
The first payment being due and payable on or before Octob et 20, 1964,
and a like payment being due and payable on or before the 20th day
of each succeeding month until paid.
5s Councilman Wintery made the motion and Flake seconded to move
telephone extension to Clay House's residence. Motion carried.
6: Council reviewed the application of George C. Thompson, Jr. to
act as Corporation Court Judge.
7: Councilman Winters made the motion and Councilman Hatton second-
ed to hire Nettie O. Roberts as City Secretary with a starting sal-
ary of $70.00 a week. Motion carried.
8: Councilman Hatton made motion Councilman Vick seconded to adjourn .
Meeting adjourned at 11:20 PM.
