MINTUES OF THE I<ENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
MAY 14, 1964
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor B. T. Webb at 7:30 PM
The follwing members were found to be present; Councilmen ;~Jinters, Vick
Flake, Hatton and Helm. No members were absent.
1. D1r and Mrs. Luther Horn and Mr. and Mrs. Waymon Lee had requested
the Council by letter to close Main street from Broadway to the Railroad
After a genexal discussion it was decided the request could not be
granted at this time because of other property owners whose lots border on
the same street and their avishes would have to be considered.
?. Mr. Joe McKinley the owner of the 237 Trailor Park was present
protesting the $2.00 service charge. He was advised there was no immediate
plan to change the Ordinance governing the operation of trailor parks.
3. Mr. Lester Jones and a group of citizens cvho reside in tl~e Briarwood
Additon were present, asking for the installation of a sever line to
their Addition and to ascertain when it might be done. They were ad~rised
when the 196# Tax valuation tivas completed and the books audited for thie
year, it would then be known ho~v many Bonds could be sold then the matter
would be taken into serious consideration as the City is well aware of the
unsanitary condition in the area.
4. Mr. John Holt made a request to cut a drainage ditch to stop the overflow
on his property in the Briarwood Addition. btayor Webb advised btr. Bolt
the County Engineer would be contacted and have hi~n look at the property
and ascertain what steps to take to remedy the condition and if there were
anything the City could do they would help him
\~ S. Mr. W.M. I~onea was present requesting reconsideraTion of his petition for
a rezoning hearing in Block 2 Lot 27 Woodlea Acres. He tivas advised to
present another letter requesting the zoning change and a zonina hearing
date would be set

6. A motion was made by Councilman Hatton to adopt Ordinance 64-4 relative
to the rezoning of Tract 5 B1ock1260 a 2 acre tract, in the J. B Renfro
Survey on the Old Mansfield Road. Councilman Helm seconded the motion.
Motion carried.
~. A Motion was made by Councilman Winters to adopt Ordinance 64-5 relative
to the rezoning of Lots 22,23,24 Block 2, t9oodlea Acres Addition - The motion
was seconded by Councilman Helm. Motion carried.
8. A motion was made by Councilman Flake to adopt Ordinance #64-6 relative to
the releasing of dogs on City streets - Councilman Hatton seconded the
motion. hiotion carried.
9. A motion was made by Councilman Helm to engage a typist on a temporary
basis to assist Mrs. Cumming with the City and School tax rolls. Councilman
Winters seconded the motion. Motion carried. It was then agreed Mrs. Joy
Roberts would be contacted and if she could fill the place to engage her.
10. Councilman Hatton made a motion to engage Mr. Charles Jicha as a part
time employee in the office and to use Mr. Jucha at vacation times and
other times when an extra clerk was needed. Councilman Winters seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
The meeting adjourned at 10:15 PM.
