REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
MARCH 12, 1964
The meeting was called to order by the Mayor-Protem in the absence of
Mayor Childres. The following members were found to be present; Councilmen
Radakovich, Helm, Vick and Winters.
1. Sherman Bruce was present and complained that he had installed a
sprinkler system because the Council had instructed him to do so, however
the sprinkler system was of no benefit to him unless a six inch water line
was laid to his property he was advised they would take into
consideration the problem he presented and if they were able to help him in
some way they would do so.
2. Mr. Joe McKinley who owns the 287 Trailor park protested the service
charge on each trail or according to paragraph 15 in Ordinance #61-7. He was
advised he would be expected to abide by the Ordianance and he promised
to do so.
3. Mrs. P. T. Yeary presented a letter to the Council requesting a change
in the zoning on Old Mansfield Road, Lot 23 Blk 2 in the Woodlea Acrea
addition from a residential zone to light industry and a motion was made by
Councilman Radakovich to set a hearing date for the said request for March 31
1964. Councilman Helm seconded the motion and to include Lots 22 and 24 in
the hearing.
4. Councilman Radakovich made a motion to prepare an Ordinance to cover the
Court cost on Appeal Bonds. Councilman Winters seconded the motion.
5. Councilman Winters made a motion to use plastic for replacing pipe on
4th street, this motion was made to rescind a motion formerly made in the
meeting of February 22 whereby they were to use cast iron. Councilman
Helm seconded the motion. Motion carraed.
6. It was called to the attion of the Council that a gutter was needed
very badly on the City Hall building and they gave instructions to have
J.D. Kirkpatrick install a gutter immediately•

7. It was also called to the attention that a trailor that could be
attached to the Police Patrol car for hauling stray dogs to the
Animal Control center was needed as there are time when the City truck is
not availabe. Councilman Radakovich suggested purchasing a second hand
trailor for thie purpose and it was agreed by all members to do this.
8. Councilman Radakovich made a motion to reject the change in the
zoning requested by Mr. W. M. Hones in Block 2 Lot 28 in the Woodlea acres
addition Councilman Helms seconded the motion. Motion carried. The
Council felt that a majority of property owners who reside within 200 ft
of the area to be changed had protested and they would abide by their
wishes in the matter
9. Councilman Radakovich made a motion to raise the salaries of Police
Chief Halverson $5.00 per week, Mrs. Langford $5.00 per week and b1rs.
Mary Cumming $10.00 per week Councilman Winters seconded the notion.
