The meeting was called to order by the Mayor, N.T. Childress The
following members were found to be present: Councilmen: Harper,
Vick, Winters, Helm and Radakovich. No members were absent.
1: A motion was made by Councilman Winters

2: Mr. James A Arthur had offered to donate to the City as a recreation
center. certain lots in the Crestdale Addition, with the stm~plation no
other than a brick building ever b e erected and if and when the curbs
and gutters were installed and the steee~tpaved, the City would pay
i the cost. The Council agreed to give the matter some serious
consideration and instructed that a letter b e sent to hir. Arthur
thanking him for his generous offer.
3: Councilman Radakovich made a motion to set a limit of $20,00 on
Personal property taxes whereby any business with no higher valuation
than the said amount would be taxed. Councilman Harper seconded the
motion. Motion carried.
4; Motion was made and carried to use cast iron pipe. as a replacement
on 4th street and also on the highway where galvonized pipe had
formerly been used.
5: Councilman Radakovich tmade a motion to pay the insurance for the
Fire Department in the amount of $113.00. Councilman Harper seconded
.:the motion. Motion carried.

At 3 PM: Mayor Childres was called ac~ey and the meeting was handed over
to Mayor Por-t em Happer:
6: Councilman Radakovich made a motion to employ J.D. Kirkpatrick
for the water and sewer department at a salary of $80.00 per week.
Mr. Kirkpatrick is to be under the supervision of Mr. B.T. Webb for
a period of six months at which time if the Council feels that he is
qualified he will be eligibl a to take over all public works and
Mr. Webb would serve in an advisory capacity only. It was also
stated in the motion that Mr. Kirkpatrick will be expected to
attend the North Texas Water Works Association which meets each
Monday night in the month. He is to attend any a ny school which
teaches short courses in water and sewer treatment the city might
choose for him. This will be at the cost of the City. Councilman
Vick seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously.
7: Councilman Winters reccommended a letter be sent to Mr. Kirkpatrick
explaining in detail the provisions made in the motion.
8: The meeting adjourned at 3:40 PD1:
