REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 13, 1964
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 Pb~l by Maypr Pro-tem Harper in
the absence of Mayor Childres. The following members were found to
be present: Councilmen: Winter, Vick, Radakovich and Helm.
1: Councilman Radakovich made a motion to write a letter to Commissioner
Punch Wright of Precinct # 2, thanking him for his cooperation in impr-
oving the street known as Jgy Lane in the Turners acres addition.
Councilman Winters seconded the motion. Motion carried. It was then agreed
to undertake graveling the street, cleaning out .t he bar ditches and this
with the understanding that the County will install cans at each residence
and the owner to pay for these cans. These home wooers will be advised
of the cost of thecans and when this information is available and it
learned the size to be used.
2: A zoning hearing was held relative to rezoning the area described
as LOt ~8, Block 2, in Woodlea Acres Addition asd requested by Mr. W.M.
Hones. A group of citizens who reside in the area or within 200 ft
of itwere present and protested the rezoning claiming that if Mr. Hones
opened up a street, it would cause a traffic hazard, thereby endangering
the lives of their children and also lowering the value of their property.
This was becasue Mr. Hones had intended building a trailor park. No
decision was made as the Council felt the matter needed further study.
Those who made the protest were: MR. Frank Cambron, Mr. W,C. Blalock,
Leon Cunningham, Jack Dickson; Mr and Mrs. Thornton who live next
to the property in question offered no objection.to the rezoning.

Councilman Radakovich made a motion to shelve the matter until. a later
date. Councilman Vick seconded the motion. Motion carried.
3: Councilman Winters made a motion to adopt Resolution # h4-1
relative to the holding of the City election on April ?, 1964. Council~an
Helm seconded the motion. Motion carried.

4: Councilman Winters made amotion to separate the office of Tax-
Assessor Colle~torfrom the City Secretary's office. Councilman
Radakovich seconded the motion. Motion carried.
5: Upon the resignation of Mrs. Sue A Langford as Tax-Assessor
Collector, Councilman Helm made a motion to appoint Mrs. Mary Lee
Cumming to fill the post. Councilman Winters seconded the motion.
Motion carried. The City Attorney was then instructed to draw up
an Ordinance governing the appoi.ntrnent and the resignation.
6; Councilman Radakovich made a motion to re-appoint Dr. W.R.
Harris as Hea~.th mfficer for another year. Councilman Helm
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
7: Councilman Radakovi.ch made a motion to approve the sub-dividing
of Lots 11 and 12 in the Pelligrini plat. Councilman Winters
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
8: Mr. Sharp who had placed his application for Public Works Director
was present. He was interviewed by the Council. He was advised
they would make their decision at a later date and he would be
advised.
