Councilman Leota Flake led the group in prayer. Other Councilmenbers present were dirs. Evlyn Blissard, E. A. Gilmore, John J. Biondi, Jr., and H. L. Batton. All members were present. 1. Minutes from the regular meeting were read. Minutes from the two sepcial called meetings were read. hir. Hatton question- ed ath fact that bins. Blissard came in just in time to vote at the last r_alled meeting. The Mayor stated that he had gone for her. Mr. Hatton said that he only wished to bring out that point. The minutes were than approved. 2. Mrs. Ruth iiodges asked -for the Council's permissio:~ to pn:: orcage a'.;~ut 200 hens for layers. The Mayor explained that it was in vi.olatio:-I of the City`s Ordinance, unless the property be rezoned. He advised her to consult the Zoning Board about the matter. 3. Chief Halverson asked the Crn.:rcil's permission to close the office fnr the week end following Thanksgiving Holiday, giving the two ladies in the office three days off. Hatton made the motion. to accept the proposal and it was sr?co:~'?!?%'i by Evelyn Blissard. The motion. carried unanimously. 4. Virgil Rhodes acted as spokesman for a group of citizens from the Hilldale Addition inquiring, as to whore would bear the respolaibility of repairing t?-Ieir streets, the de!~eloper or the City. b1r. Rhodes .stated that they were promicc+d curbs, gutters, and a paved street. The Mayor informed them that the City didn't ever promise to pave streets, because funds wore r;ot available to do so, and suggested that they talk with i`ir. Couch, the developer or see the County Commissioner who might be in a position to assict them. The City Attorney advised them to start action inlln~diately so that the four year 1 in:it for the developer to cnraj,l ate the streets did not ~~x i.re. 5. The Dlayor agreed that the City could provide gravel but that the Cou.~ty would bn responsibl n for gradir-:g and opening the bar ditches; a:.d it would also be necessa.r.y to wait until the sewer line tags completed ir. that area. 3. L~ota Flake made the motion to re-adopt Ordi nanc.e ,,#h5-1.1. •rezoning Lot 31 of the C. :1. Boaz 2nd from B to C. E. A. Gilmore made the second. The motion: carried.
