The meeting was called to order by Mayor Horton at 7:45 Council members present
Don Lyon, H. L. Hatton, Jim Moore and Bob Corcoran. John J. Biondi being the only
absentee. '
Mayor Horton asked the Council if it would be premissible for Mr. Sampson to park a
trailer behind his home at 708 Bowman Springs Road, he already bought a building
permit and is makineg an addition onto his hous. Only wanted to use the trailer for
storage until the house was completed. Mr. Corcoran made motion to grant his permissio

A represenative from Pate Jones Asphalt Co., came before the Council, asking permissio
for a trailer Court da his property on Village Creek Road. The Council advised him
would take it into consideration, he then asked about the trailer which was alreadycp$
parked there, stating they need a night watchman tm sleep there at nights as their
business had been broken ;nto several times. He a~~•^ s*ated Pate Jones would maintain
his own streets. Jim Moore made motion to grant hifi•~to leave the trailer for a period
of six weeks, Mr. Hatton 2nd motion, motion carried unamiously.
Mr. Fred Smith an Engineer from the County Health Dept. proposed to the Council of
the intentions of the State & County to discontinue the two dumping grounds. Stating
it has been found that open dumping & burning of refuse contributes to air & water
polution, provides potential food and cover for rats and flies and is injurious
to the health and welfare of the area population. He suggested to the Council phe
sanaller communities join together and acquire some land, approximately 20 or 25 acres
for a Landfill, or might lease property for at least ten years. Stating the County
would take care of it, would have their equipment two days or more each week, the
County would bear the cost, which would be at least $350.00 per week and it would
take care of 20,OOa population. The State & County would over-see the building the
roads, we would have to hire some one to maintain the landfill and have our Fire Dept.
available in case of fire. We could charge commerical haulers by the yard, load or
weight, hir. Hatton made motion to accept this proposal, b1r. Lyon 2nd motion, motion
carried unamiously.
Mr. Fleming came before the Council in regard of moving a mobile home on the 4 acres
he had bought from Alfred Davis. Mr. Lyon suggested wait until the Planning Board met
as they might recommend no more mobile homes in the City.
Bennett asked about buying tires for_ the police car, stating '~e had one bid from
Humble stateion for $79.00. Mr. Hattor, advised him to buy the cheapest tires, Also
Bennett presented bids for a new police car and the lowest bid was by Worthy Forest
Park Plymouth in the amount of $2,832.03. Hatton made motion to buy the cheapest

the money from the Mansfield State BankxaRd at the lowest interest rate possible.
Chief Bennett stated the police of Mansfield and Rorest Hill and some business
places of the City had complained about Johnny McDavid. Also all the reserves
had complained about his reckless drirving. Lt. Young stated he personally liked
Johnny, but didn't think he would make a police officer. Johnny stated he only
had one week and 3 days training before he was put on by himself. Johnny stated
he did not come up to try to get his job back, as he was working for the employer
hs worked for before joining the police dept. Mr. Hatton made notion since Johnny
was already working, the Council accept his resignation and give him good recom-
mendations, with pay Pram the time he was suspended until now. Mr. Moore 2nd
motion, motion carried unamiously.

Don Lyon made motion any one renting the Kennedale Community Center to make
a deposit of $10.00 verifing they will leave the building clean, then they
can come by the City Hall and they would be reimburse, if the Community Center
was clean. Bob Corcoran 2nd motion, motion carried unamiously. All local
organizaations are occluded from this deposit.
Hatton made motion to adjourn, Jim Moore 2nd motion, meeting adjorned 1Oz10pM.
