12.14.1967 CC Minutes410 REG[JLAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY OOUNCIL
December 14, 1967
The meeting was assembled by Mayor Norton at 7:30P.M. All Council members
were present.
1. E1fo Agostini came before the council asking permission to close the street
on the Pelligrini property, the street being known as Alma Street. Don Lyon
suggested he meet with the Planning Board Committee, as it might b e more
profitable to him, and he would be advised the date of their next meeting.
2. Mr. Dunn, representing the A" &'?B equipment, presented a brouche of the Brown
180 Trencher, thought the City might be interested in buying it. Mayor Horton
said did not know where the City could use it. Don Lyon advised the Council
would take it into consideration, wanted to determine how much sewer line
would be layed, to be sure if the City had a need for it . The cost be£~ng
$3700.00.
3. Mrs. Malone came before the Council, caking permission to move a Trailer
Home on one of their lots they had bought from Mrs. Spencer in the Kennedale
Survey. After she was advised the requirements of a trailer being moved in.
Don Lyon made motion to grant her permission, Jim Moore 2nd motion, motion
carried unamiously.
4. L. P. Jones of the Briarwood Addition came before the Council, wanting to
know why he could~nt obtain building permits in that addition, stating he had
53 lots in all, and only had 6 lots left. The Council advised him the City had
numerous complaints in regards to the road and drainage problems. Mr. Jones
stated he had contacted Mr. Boreand, a County Engineer, and Mr. Boreland told
him all he needed was a request from the City, and the County would do the
work, without cost to the City. Stating Mr. Boreland said he would bring
road to grade and look into the drainage problems. Mz. Moore suggested
writing a 1 etter to Mr. Boreland confirming this matter and if the County
would do the work without cost to the City. Don Lyon made motion to grant him
permission to obtain the other 6 building permits, stimulating it would not
b e any expense to the City. Mr. Biondi 2nd motion, motion caned unamiously.
5. Richard Bennett requested a new car for the police department. Mr. Hatton
advised him to get bids and submit them at the next meeting in two weeks.
Mayor Horton told him to get bids from Ford and Chevrol et deal ers. Mr. Hatton
suggested to get an automatic transmission. Mr. Hatton stated there would be
no warrants paid until the City had collected the warrants.
6. Jim Moore asked if it would be permissible to use the City truck to bring the
boxing Y'ing from Arlington tb: the school. All council agreed.
Mr. Hatton made motion to adjourn, Jim Moore 2nd motion, meeting adjourned
10:20 P.M.
