REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING JUNE8,1967
Mayor Webb assembled the meeting at 8:00. Council members present were H. T..
Hatton, Bobby Vaughan, Wesley Horton and Cecil Lyon. Don Lyon being the only
absentee.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved.
1. L. D. Holt came before the Council, requesting a sewer line on his property,
ah~~e decided to put in a trailer court. They advised him since it was private
property, they would be unable to run the sewer line. And he would also have
to come before the zoning board and get permission before he could have a trailer
court.
2. Wayne West appeared before the Council, questioning the qualification of the
Chief of Police, whey they hadn't been able to apprehend the prowler on Dick
Price Road, that it had been over a month., thought the tax payers should be
protected, that he was afraid to stick his.;:heed out of the house, due to so
many guns being fired. Said Police had not been patroling. He also asked
why the last Chief had been fired, Bobby Vaughan stated Mr. Watson had told
him, wish they would get a Chief anfl let him go back on nights. Wanted to
know why the Chief hadn't asked for assistance, if he wasn't capable of hand-
ling the situation, suggested the calling of the Sheriff's Dept. Cecil Lyon
suggested to call the Chef in and advise him to contact the Sheriff's Dept.
3. Jim Conder and a group of citizens from the Turner acres addition requesting
they be furnished sewer facilities. He was advised the sewer line would have
to be connected to the Swiney Dairy. Wesley Horton made motion authorizing our
City Attorney to contact some Engineering Firm and a Bond Broker in regard to
a Bond Election. Bobby Vaughan 2nd motion, motion carried unamiously.
4. Representatives from the State Health Dept. with Tarrant County Health Dept.,
visted our sewer plant and they insisted we build a fince around the plant, Pete
told Raymond Massey the City would go 50-50, if he would build the fence, OUr
part being 203.00. Mayor Webb asked Mr. Currey to give a bid on the other three
sides, which Mr. Currey quoted 770.50. Mr. Hatton wanted to see a financial re-
port before taking action on this matter.
5. Mayor Webb presented a platt and dedication of Don Lyon in Glen Oaks addition.
Mr. Hatton made motion to approve the plat and dedication, horton 2nd motion,
motion carried. No action was taken in running a 6 inch water line to this pro-
ject.
6. Red Gilmore presented the rules for the teen club, stating they had elected
7 chaperons since the rules were drawn up. Wanted to know how much the City
would chg. the teen club for two nights a week, perferrable Thursday and
Saturday nights. Mayor Webb suggested wait until they had $100.00 in tres-
sury. Horton 2nd. Motion carried unamiously.
7. Red Gilmore told the Council, he had use the City tractor for about 2 hrs.
and 15 min. and wanted to know how much they were going to charge him. Hatton
made motion to chg. Red $5.00 for the tractor providing he would add another
$1.00 and donate it to the teen club, Vaughan 2nd motion. Motion carried
unamiously.
8. Mrs. Doyle who is building a 6000.00 home on E. Mansfield Hwy., wanted per-
mission to pay her water and sewer taps out, $10.00 per month. Horton aade
motion to grant her permission. Hatton 2nd. Motion Carried.

9. Mayor Webb read resigination of Cecil Lyon as Mayor Pro Tem and council-
man. Hatton made motion not to accept his resignation, Horton 2nd motion,
Cecil Lyon voted against, motion carried.
10. Mayor Webb read letter stating Mr. McMahan had talked with him and
asked him to serve as Mayor until all the warrants were issued, Which
would be about two weeks or not later than the next Council meeting. And
he would be gald to do so, if the Council wanted him too. Horton made motion
to accept Mayor Webb-'s resignation as of tonight. Hatton 2nd,motion
carried unamiously. Mr. Webb stepped down as Mayor.
11. Mr. Hatton made motion to ado~~ resolution 67-4 appointing Wesley Horton
as Mayor. Vaughan 2nd motion. Motion carried unamiously. And upon tak-
ing his chair resigned as councilmak. Hatton made motion to accept his
resignation. Vaughan 2nd, Motion carried.
12. Chief Mitchell came in at 11:20 and was told to contact the County
for assistance in regard to the prowler. Mitchell stated he would do so
and would gladly acdept any help in this matter.
13. Cecil Lyon made motion to adopt resolution 76-5 to appoint John J.
Biondi, Jr. as councilman. Bobby Vaughn 2nd motion, motion carried
unamiously.

Hatton made motion to adjourn. Vaughan 2nd motion, meeting adjourned at
11:40 P. M.
