03.16.1967 CC Minutes386 SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE KENI~'EDALE CITY COUNCIL N1ARC:-i 16, 1967 The meeting assembled at B:15 Phi with the Mayor presiding. Thy Council- men present were Don T. Lyon, Cecil Lyon, and Bobby Vaughan. Absent mem- bers were Evelyn Blissard an9 JohrY J. Biondi, Jr.. 1. Don T. Lyor. made the motion to adopt Ordinance 67-5 authorizing issuance of Interest Bearing Time Warrants and Certificates for the pur- pose of constructing improvements and extension.=. to the Cityt s water works and sewer systems, to provide fire hydrants and repair and paint the water tank. Bobby Vaughan made the second and it carried unanimously. 2. Bobby Vaughan mado the motion to adopt Ordinance b7-6 accepting bids submitted for the supervisions of labor and materials for the extensions, repairs and installations. Don T. Lyor~ mado the second and it carried. 3. Don Dickens, of Freese i~i.chals and EndrFSS was present with an Engi- neering Proposal. A letter of agreement dated March 16, 1967 for pay- mnnt of engineering fees and service ir: the maximum arr~ount of $2,500.00 by issuance of time warrants was read to the Council for approval. The Dayor was authorized to execute in behalf fo the City. Dar. T. Lyon made the motion for approval. Bobby Vaughan made the second and it carried with a unanimous vote. A copy is attached to these mir;utes. 4. Whereas previous bids were rejected, Bobby Vaughan made the motion to adopt Ordiarrrce 67-7 readvertiaing a notice to bidders to let a con- tract for materials a.nd supplies. Payment to be made in part or all with Time Warrants. Don T. Lyon made the second and it car_.ried with a unanimous vote. Bid opening date was set at 2;00 Fhi April 6, 1967. S. Mr. Marshall reported ?-rat after conferring with h1r. Hubbard of Estes Service Co., her learned thht the company was not interested in severing the franchi.=..e that they now have with the City. Ile did however wish to correct the grievar:ce whatever it might be. h. Bobby Vaughar. made the motion to adjourn and Don T. Lyon made the second.
