were bJ. C. I<irk~,atrick, uon Lyon, Charles Knotty J. '-i. Ma.tin and ". L. !tatton.
rlayor Webb told the Council we were taking up Nrhere we left off in regard to
tine fin finical situation.
Mr. Itatton said he would like to see the Police Dept. taken out of the General
FunB and give ,them ra 9C day trial. , said he would put that as a mot ion, lack of
a gnu, ro actaon was taken.
Mayor Webb asked Mr. Hatton why couldn't have an escort to a funeral. Mr. Ladd
was i'r,en called ire and stated he was on an accident, he also stated tt-:ere were tyro
~nen c,n duty. hSr. Kirkpatrick asked Larry if he jave the Chief' of Police in Mansfield
assistance in regard to handling traffic. Lar.ry° stated he had called the Chicd
and he advised him he had enough reserves.

Mayor Webb suggested cut the Police F rce to two men install a phone ira some
one rouse to ~ttake care of the calls, ~hougt-,t should !'cave an older experienced man as
Chief <:.nd to retain Larry as' assistant CHief at the same sa2.ary he is getting now.
lion Lyon made motion to hire Kari .Ialverser: as Chief and Larry assistant ~Ct.i~f
and sell one of the police cars, have one dispatcher ~.nd set a b~,zdget o.f about
$1,500.00, there would be r.o cut in L~~rry's salary he is getting nornJ. And the
Cries would be responsible to the Council and Mayor. hir. Kirkpatrick 2nd motion
Mr. Khotts abstained from voting, Mr. Hatton voted aga.ins. 3 for, motion carried.
