July 11, 1968
Ma or Webb assembled the meeting at 7:50, Council members ppresent were W.-C.
Kirkpatrick, Don Lyon, Charles Knotts, J. H. Martin and H. L. Hatton.
The minutes from the precious meeting were read and approved.
Mayor Webb, read resigination of Mrs. Underwood, who was director of the Youth
Center. Mrs. Wilma Bedford came before the Council asking permission to take over
Mrs. Underwoods duties. Mr. Knotts made motion to grant Mrs. Bedford's request, to
give her a copy of the rules and to go by them. Mr. Hatton 2nd motion, notion
carried unaniously.
Paul Winters appeared before the Council with a Mr. Hutchinson and Chester Strickland
asking the North East corner of Bolin acres be annexed to the City of Kennedale.
Mr. Winters st~-ted the water line was within about 610() feet of this property. Mr.
Mr. Kirkpatrick made motion to annex this property, Mr. Hatton 2nd motion, motion
carried unaniously. Mayor Webb advised our City Attorney to contact the City
Attorney of Arlington, and see what can be d~.ne about it. Stating ~~~_~ property
owners pay all the legal expense.
Mx. L. D. Holt cane before the Council in regard to a mobile home cpmrt on West
Mansfield Highway. Mr. Lyon made motion to turn this over to the Planning Board
Committee. Mr. Knots 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously.
Mr. Robert Patterson came before the Council in regard of closing Hudson and Kennedy?
streets between 4th and 5th street this is block 36,27 and 36, Kennedale Surevey
known as the Hammick Estate. Mr. Lyon made motion, pending Mr. Patterson purchasing
of this property to grant this request. Mr. Hatton 2nd motion, motion carried
unaniously.
Mr. Lyon, who was representing the First Baptist Church, asked the Council per-
mission to close Sulphur Street between 3rd and 4th. Mr Hatton made motion
to grant this request, Mr. Kirkpatrick 2nd motion, mot ion carried unaniously. Mr.
Marshall was asked to draw up a petition, signed by the Deacons of the First
Baptist Church and all property owners within 200 feet of property line.
Mayor Webb gave Mr. Marshall an ordinance from Notthe Central Texas Council of
Governments regulating Ait polution; asking the City Attorney to study it and
bring it back at next Council meeting.
Mayor Webb advised the Council that the Hartford Insurnace Co, will not insure the
Police cars any sore. He stated would see if could get some one else to insure them.
Mayor Webb read not~from Mrs Doud, who cooks for the Lions Club, stating she found
the building very dirty add the commodes stopped up. Mr. Kirkpatrick stated he was
in the building on Satruday ,orning on the 6th of June and found it cluttered with
beer cans and whiskey bottles. Mr. Lyon made motion on reporA we had received in
the past, we would be unable to lease the building to the Ladies Fire Auxiliary any
more. Mr. Kirkpatrick 2nd motion,xm:tis~[xMr. Hatton abstained from voting 4 for,

Mr. Kirkpatricj made motioa each one leasing the building to put up a $10.00
deposit to assure it would be cleaned when leaving, df clean, they would come
by the City Hall and pick up their $10.00. Mr. Hatton 2nd motion, motion
carried unaniously.
Mr. Lyon made motion to appoint Mayor Webb as purchasing agent. Mr. Knotts
2nd motion, motion carried unanfously.
Mr. Hatton made motion to adjourn, Mt. Kirkpatrick 2nd motion. Meeting adjourned
at 10:05 P. M .
