REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
JUME 13, 1968
Mayor Wsbb assemb;ed the meeting at 7:~0 P. M. C04.incil aembers present were
W. C. Kirkpatrick, Don Lyon, C arles K otts, J. H. Martin and H. L Hatton.

The minutes from the previous aeet~ng were read and approved.
Mrs. Cook came before the Council, asking permission to mover a trailer on the
Cabiness place, which she is now leasing and stated she had option to buy in the
event they ever sold it. Stating it would be a factory built trailer and tie 250
to 500 feet off of New Hope Road. Mr. Hatton advised her she would have to reaove
the wheels from the trailer and put it on fondation. Mr. Knotts made motion
to turn the matter over to the piannin g board and to notify at least two planning
board members to seat with Mrs. Cook and look at her place. Mr. Hatton 2nd aotion,
aotion was carried unaniously. the Secretary was asked to notify Mrs. Cook when
the board members could seat with her..
Mr. Rodriquez and Mr. Moody came before the Council in regard of closing Spiller
Street between 3rd & 4th , This property belonging to Mr. Rodriquez and the Bible
Baptist Church. Mr. Kirkpatrick made motion to grant them permission to close
the St., stipulating the petition and ordinance would have to be recorded, with
out any cost to the City of Kennedale. Have Mr. Rodriquez and the trustees of
of the Church to sign petition. Mr. Hatton 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously.
Mr. Mr. Pate Jones appeared before the Council, asking permission to have a trailer
Park on his property in the Oakcrest addition, stating he would fill in with dirt
so water would have to get to the bridge, would be about 3S or 40 trailers, each
trailer splace would be 90 X 40, would make water tap, sewer tap for each trailer
and each occupant would make their own meter deposit and each would be on gargabe
Mr. Lyon wade motion to grant him permission if the provisions meets with the
CIty restriction and in case of floods the City of Kennedale would not be
responsible. Mr. Hatton 2nd motion, motion carried unansioulsy.
Kenneth Pearce asked the Council if they had reached a deeision in regard of his
getting all the wrecker pulls, he was advised they had not.
Clay House asked the Council if the City would send his to A. & M Fire training
school and pay the taition, plisse a weeks of his vacation pay. No action waxs taken.
Mr. Lyon presented a dediciation of plat of lots 4 through 7, Block i and lots
3 through 6 in block 2 in the Glenoaks addition a subdivision of Tr 1 and Tr 2 of
the J. M. Bstes tra+~~~ Mr. Knotts made motion to approve the plat, Mr. Hatton 2nd
aotion, aotion carried unamiously.
Mayor Webb advised the Council,. Myra didn't get a raise when the last raises were
given. Mr. Hatton wade aotion to give Myra a $20.00 per week raise Mr. Lyon 2nd
aotion. aotion carried unaniouciy.
Mayor Webb asked the Council about setting up an allowance for the regular Policeaan~
uniforms. Mr. Knotts made motion to grant they $2.00 per week per patroleman to
be paid in June and Deceaber, Mr. K ixkpatrick 2nd aotion, aotion carried unaniously

Mr. Kirkpatrick suggested if wrecker is called snd can't make the pull, then
next on rotation would be called. -also when our office is closed the Officer
on duty notigy Forest Hill and d~~ve them information on last pull and at 8
each morning each officer on dutya give to the Kennedale P. D., Information be
turned over to Jewell each morning, information to include, make, model, color
reason for dulling and location where pulled .Also Police car should be checked
daily and to observe speed limit, excluding robbery,prowler, shooting or in
pursuit.
After much discussion about the reserves. Mr. Lyon asked Larry if he would
4 regular men , could he submit a schedule, where the City would be covered
twenty four hr a day He Would rather see the CIty employees drive the Clty
cars and not to have more than two men in the car ab any one time.
Mrs. Hatton made motion to appoint Mr. Crow as a reserve, no action was taken.
Mayor Webb said he thinks the City should appoint a purchasing agent, after
a small discussion, no agreement was reached.
Mr. Hattone made motion to adjourn. Mr. Lyon 2nd motion Meeting adjourned
11:15 P. M.
