REGULAR MEETING OF Th'E KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL

Mr. Webb assembled the meeting at 7:35 P.M. Council members present were W.C.
Kirkpatrick Don Lyon, Charles Knotts, J.H. Martin and A.L. Bulin.
The minutes from previous meeting were read and approved.
Chief Bill Cruson came before the Council, ststing he had three request, which
included buying shoulder patches for the patrolmen's uniforms, would like to
have about 20 and they were $1.75 each, making a total of $35.00, and he would
tike to attend the North Central Texas Regional Police Academy in Arlington, Oct,
• 23rd, the fee would be $15.00 also would like to have not over 1~ reserve officers
stating each would be screened and not, cost the City as each would buy their own
unif orms and would not drive the Police Car, but ride with a regular officer. Mr.
Lyon made motion to grant request, Mr. Bulin 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously.
Don Myers who has the garbage disposal contract with the City now, came before the
Council stating he was dissatisfied, didn;t feel like he was receiving enough revenue
thought he should be paid for the amount billed each month, instead of the amount paid
the City. Asked the Council to take it into consideration, as his contract expires
December 1st 1969. Also thought he should have exclusive rights of all garbage disposal
in the City. Mayor Webb advised him to draw up a contract like the one he has with
Midlothian and present it to the Council at their next meeting.
Mr. George Helm appeared before the Council, stating he had obtained about 65 acres
of land between 1Qew ~-?ope Road and the Rail Road Tracks, wants to have a Mabil Home
Park and expected to spend one half million or more, stating the streets would be
curbed and guttered, street lights, swimming pool, club house, parking area and would
have approximately 5 mobil homes to each acre. Mayor Webb advised him to meet with the
planning board and he would be advised of the time and date.
Irene Graham came before the Council asking:permssion for a trailer park on East
Mansfield Highway, next door to the Jahovah's Wittness Church., this would be fnr
retired couples, she too was referred to the planning board.
Mrs. Borgaschi came before the Council in regard to the same property that Mrs. Graham
has referred to, stating she would like to build a Drive In Restraurant, something like
the Dairy Queen, also asked permission for a trailer back of the place of business, she
was advised to come before the planning board, that she would be notified of the time
and date.
J.C. ( Skeet ) Faust came before the Council representing another party, who asked
permission to have exclusive rights to sell fire works in the City limits, stating
this party would donate $500.00 per year to the Volunteer Fire Dept. $250.00 in July
and $250.00 in December. After some discussion, on this matter, no action was taken.
Mae Pennington came before the Council in refrence of a disability insurance fir the
City Employees, which would pay them $100.00 per month., would cost the City between
$40.00 and $60.00 per month, in case of accident the disability would start immediately
in case of illness would start in 7 days after employee has been absent. Mr. Lyon made
motion to t~.ke this insurance for one year. Mr. Kirkpatrick 2nd motion, motion carried
unaniously.

Mayor Webb read letter he had written to the City of .Arlington, advising
them when they deannexed the property South o.f proposed:~Inter~ta-~~ 20near
Lake Arlington, The City Of Kennedale would annex it within 24 hours.
Mr. Hulin came beofre the Council asking they amend the zoning ordinance from
A to C North of the water tower to Little School Road, stating he obtained 12
acres of land, wants to build a 500 unit apartment, and some houses. The Council
referred him to the planning board, he would be notified of the time and date of
their next meeting.
Mr. Marshall presented Ordinance 69-12 leving and distribution the 1969 taxes,
after the Council reviewed. the Ordinance. Mr. Lyon made motion to adopt ordinance
69-12 Mr. Knotts 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously.
P~Ir. Kirkpatrick made motion to adjourn, Mr. Bulin 2nd motion, meeting adjourned
at 11 ;1 0 P.M.
