SPECIAL MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 14,1969
Mayor Webb aas@mblad:the meeting at 7:35 P.M. Council members present
were W.C. Kirkpatrick, Chalres Knotts, J.I-~; Martin and A.L. Bulin, Don
Lyon being the only absentee.
The minutes from the previous meeting were read and after a correction
of L.L. Landry statement he be de-annexed from the City of Kennedale instead
of the School district, the minutes were then approved.
Mr. 1-Iubbard from the Estes dispoval service vaitl~ Mr. Morrow came before
the Council in regard of his garbage collection in the. City limits of
Kennedale, stating ae .R~<.sn~t aware that he would have to have a permit.
Mr. L9ebb explained to them each one hauling garbage in Kennedale would
Dave to have a permit. The permit being $25.00 per year, payable from
January 1st, to January 1st., that he would owe from August 1st, 1969.,
to January 1st, 1970.
''~ Mr. Honea and Mr. Mc Kinley with their attorney Mr. Ryder appeared before
'~ the Council in regard to the ~=cater and sewer charge on each trailer. Mr.
Marshall advised Mr. Ryder since each trailer is considered a resident,
they had an alternative of paying the minumin water charge of $3.50 for
each 25000 gallons of water plus $2.00 for sewer for each trailer, or the
City would install a large water meter on the property line and they pay
for a water tap for each trailer and each occupant would have their ovm
meter deposit.
Mayor 6~Jebb advised the Council, Agnes Kirk of Mansfield had contacted him
and asked they consider her as Corporation Court Judge. Mayor 4ti°ebb suggested
if and when the City was ready to make a change, they would consider her
request.
Mr. Marshall read Ordinance #69-8 amending section 15 8f Ordinance 67-Z
J regulating operation of trailer parks. Mr. Kirkpatrick made motion to
adopt ordinance 69-8 Mr. Martin 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously.
Mr. Marshall read Ordinance 69-9 amending section 1 of Ordinance 61-?,
rates far sewer, Mr. Knotts made motion to adopt Ordinance 69-9.Mr. Bulin
2nd mot ion, mot ion carried unaniously.
Mr. Marshall read Ordinance 69-10 amending Ordinance 22, adopted October
1,1954relatively to the minumin wtaer rates. htr. Kirkpatrick made motion
to daopt Ordinance 69-1C. Dlr. Martin 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously.
Dlr. Marshall read Ordinance b9-lI relative to water service rendered by the
City. Mr. Bulin made motion to adopt Ordinance. ~~9-11 Mr. Knotts 2nd motiorby
Motion carried unaniously.
Mayor ~9ebb asked the Council their decision of giving the water department
employees raises. Mr. I3ulin made motion to give Mr. Freeman a $7;00 raise,
Mr. Hale a $6:00 raise a.nd Pete a $5:00 raise per week. Mr. Martin 2nd
motion, Mr. Kirkpartick abstained from voting, 3 for, mot ion carried.
