04.19.1969 CC Minutes450 REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL. APRIL 19, 1969 Mayor Webb assembled the meeting at 7:30 P.M. Council members present were W.C. Kirkpatrick, Don Lyon, Charles Knotts, J.H. Martin and H.L. Hatton. The minutes from the previous meeting were read and approved. Mr. Wyatt and Mr. Sanders appeared before the Council, saying they were representing about 15 families in the Gay Daughters addition in regard to a 6' water line and fire plugs. Mr. Patino asked they leave his street alone and not grade it any more. Mr. Shaw came before the Council, asking permission to erect a commercial bldg 18x 24 at 620 N. Road. Saying it would be a colored masco bldg. also about the drainage problems. Mayor Webb suggested he contact the Engineer of Tarrant Co. and he would advise him what size drain he needed. Mr. Lyon Suggested he read the bldg code before he started building. Mr. Kirkpatrick made motion to grant this request, Mr.Martin 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously. Mr. Honea with Mr. Irwin came before the Council in regard of Mr. Erwin collecting garbage at the Avalon Mobil Home without a permit from the City of Kennedale. Mayor Webb read them ordinance 57-9 that forbids any one to collect garbage within the City of Kennedale, except under contract. Mr. Kirkpatrick made motion to table this request for 30 days, in order to study the contract the City has with Don Myers, Mr. Knotts 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Brown appeared before the Council, about a citation Mr. Brown had received on a drunk charge, Mr. Brown said he was not drunk, had his two children with him when they brought him to jail, Mayor Webb said he had talked with the Police Chief about this matter and the patrolman that issued the citation wouldn't be with the City any more. Not ~Iy because of this one citation, but other complatins we had about him. For him to talk with the Chief and thought they could work something out. Mr. Kirkpatrick said he knew that it was very embarassing and we offored our apology. Mrs. Brown stated the patrolman was very hateful and discourteous. Mr. Marshall read Resolution 69-2, canvasing the Election return for the purpose of electing 3 councilmen for a two year term. Mr. Hatton made motion to adopt Resolution 69-2 „ Mr. Kirkpatrick 2nd motion, motion carried unanaously. Mr. Marshall then administered the oath of the office to Charles Knotts, J.H. Martin and A.L. Bulin, Mr. Hatton then stepped down and the councilmen took their chairs, Mr. Bulin taking the chair vacated by Mr. Hatton. Mr. Marshall read letter from Key Branch Water Co., dated March 24, 1969 amending the contract the City of Kennedale had with them, which would become effective six months from date of letter.The rates would be 90 cents pex 1004 instead of 40 cents per thousand. Mr. Kirkpatrick made motion authorizing out City Attorney to write a letter to Key Branch Water Co. accepting their amendmant. Mr. Bolin 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously. The City Secretary was instructed to write Mr. Norwood Hiett, to obtain the name of the house mover that moved his mobil home. Also ask him to write us when the addition to the mobil home is completed. Would have to have a bldg permit and the mobil home would have at least 1000 sq feet of floor space.
