REGULAR PiEETING OF THr KENNADALE CITY ~~(;NCZL

Mayor Platt assembled the meeting, at 8:15 P. M. Council members present wise
H.P.Jenkins, John J. i3iondi, Jr., A. 1 Bulin, J. 1I. P?artin and ,Charles Knotts.
The rn.nutes from the previous meetings were read and approved.
Dlr. McMahan from McMahan, Inc. of Dallas presented a proposal to the council to
let the City issue ;`:=7,000, water permanent improvement notes to be issued to
hir. McMahan and Freese & Niche"ls of a depositor~r bank. This would permit the
City to have the maximum storage that the engineers said would be needed to
have fire insurance rates. Mr. McMahan presented a note for his fees on the
bond issued. This note to be paid out of the General Obligation Interest Sini:ing
Fund. Ivir. Bulin made motion to accept this not.,e, Mr. Jenkins 2nd motion, motion
car-rigid unanimously. Mr. McMahan stated that when we received the statement from
Freese and Nichols, which wotzld be around $15,OQO.t?0, the council could contact
Mr. Ready at the N;ansfield State 3anr: and he would ;Hake a loan to cover these
fees. h^.r. .McMahan said 70 in tax levee would be required for interest and princi-
pal on the entire det,t. Mr. 3ulin made motion to accept this proposal, Mr. Jen-
?:ins 2nd motion, motion c~:r.ried unanimously.
Jack Denton came before the Council in reference of having Glaze Lane gravel ed,
it was donated to the City 10 years ago, and the road had never been fixed. Mr.
rt:rlin made motion to contact the County Engineers and see if they would grade
thc~ read. Mr. Knotts 2nd motion, motion carried unanimously. Mr. Martin ad-
vised Mr. Denton they would have to have driveway cans installed; Dir. Denton
asssreci hi:n they would. Mr. Denton also said had fire hydrants there that didn~t
have water in them. i~iayor Platt advises him he would look in±o the u~atter.
Ch?.ef Alison gave a detaile«~ report on the pal ice department, saying had issued
101 citations, 10 accidents, 10 speeding, 2 stop signs, 21 no drivers license, 12
no MVI stickers, 3 drunk while drivin:~, b drunk in public, 4 disturbing the peace;
used 545 gallons of gas. He, also, as'red for the dicpa.±chers bark,.. start them at
$280.C0 a month and raise Joyce to $320.00; stating that the poi ice department
would pay. there own array. ns~. F3ul in recommended a mar. dispatcher. for the 12 mid-
night to 8 AM shift. Mr. Jenkins made motion to biro the dispatchers back with

of $35.00 for Joyce to go to school for 3 days.. and $^5.00 for Peacock. Dir. Biondi

poorly handled in that the minutes o_f. the last Panrfir:~~ Commission did n-~t reach
the Council.
The Planniny Cozr..-nission has selet~ted two sites fora city park and asked the City
Planners to work out a site most suitable to the overall plan. Jim Ayers ask tae
Planning Commission to send a copy of the comprehensive plan to the Supt of S~:.hools
and set up a mutiny between thfi Pla,tiiny Commission and Scaool F3oard to dis~,uss
location of City parks and school sites.

T1-ie planning Commission submitted three recommendations to the Council.
:vo. 1 Fisk the City Attorney to contact aim Ayers the City Planners and ask him
to outline the information needed in order to adopt the building cedes for the
;;sty.
No. °2 Recommended aim t+?alters Corporation be required to bring the house on
Swiney H~.ett i;oad up to a minimum square footage and comply with the side yard
requirements. Mr. Bu1in recommended this be chectr:ed out.
No. 3 That the City Council authorize the-Planning Commission to work with
civil engineers in setting up a twenty-five and/or fifty year flood zone along
major drainage areas. The Council advised theme would like to c'~eck into the
cost of this matter before making a decision.
