08.10.1970 CC Minutest~$9 SPECIAD CALL MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 10, 1970
Mayor Platt assembled the. meeting at 7:30 P. M. Council members present were Homer
Jenkins, John J. Biondi Jr, A. L. B~tlin, J. H. Martin and Charles Knotts.
Mr. McMahan with Frank B. McMahan Co. Inc. from Dallas was present and presented a
certificate ofr ordinance, authorizing the insurance of water bonds in the amount
of $35,000.00 which he read to~the Council. Mr. Jenkins made motion to accept this
certificate, Mr. Bulin 2nd motion, motuon carried unaniously.
Mr. Copeland from Frees and Nichols, came before the Council with plans,
specification and contract douoments for construction of a trinity sand well.
Would have to advertise for bids for well and also bids for a pump and storage
, but would wait longer for the bids on pump and storage. Mr. Martin made motion
to advertise for bids on the well, Mr. Jenkins 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously.
Mr. Knotts made motion for a call meeting August 31 to review the bids and have the
well completed by Jan. 1, 1..971. Mr. Biondi 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously.
The Council asked Mr. Copeland if he knew of any way of improving the new well, as
they were diappointed with'its production, he said he did not. but if the Council
desired he could get another well man to look at it and get his opinion and if he
thought, there was any way of improving the well, The Council instructed him to
contact Henry Millican and get his opinion.
Pete Kirkpatrick advised the Council ,Pate Jones had contacted him in reference of
an over night camping space for people traveling. The Council advised Pete to have
Mr. Jones to drawr. up plans and present to them.
Mr. Martin made motion to adjourn, Mr. Knotts 2nd motion, meeting adjourned at
9:05 P. M.
