10.11.1971 CC MinutesSPBCIAL CALL MEBTING OF 7HE Rfi~ihUALB CITY ODIJNGIL Oct. 11, 1971 Mayor Martin assembled the meeting at 7:40 P.M. Council members present were Mrs. Inez Keithley, John J. Biondi, Jr., Marshall Tyson and Bill Bishop, Mr. Watson being absent. 535 Mr. Auerbach, former tax consultant was present at the request of Mayor Martin, in regard to the $500.00 the City had agreed to pay him for his services rendered in taxes. Mr. Auerbach said he understood this fee was for preparing the tax roll, and negotiate with all the companies; they had to re-negotiate with them when the tax rate increased. He also stated he would make the City a set of cards with the valuation and legal description at an extra fee. Mr. Biondi made motion to pay Mr. Auerbach the $500.00, 2nd by Mr. Bishop; motion carried unanimously. Mr. Auerbach stated the school had paid him for making them a set of cards. The Council then discussed the contract the City had with the School on the total revaluation, Mr. Marshall, the city attorney, advised them he was of the opinion the contract was binding and thought the court would uphold the contract in the event it went to court. Mrs. Reithley suggested the Council ask the School Board to meet with them to discuss the contract and cards belonging to the City and School and the Citq billing and collecting the school tax for 1971.
