Auerbach at the Council's request prLsented some figures on the tax structure. Stating if used the same valuation of last years roll artiincreased the rate to $1.25 would be $53,501.3h or $1.35 per hundred would be $57,771.42 or if they us~1 the appraisal of $100.00 valuation would be ,75,000.;10 as what they desired to dc~. if didn't use the old valuation, would have to have an equalizatior. board of 3 people. He would like to have: something concrete to start prepara'~io:7 of making the tax roll for 71. Ivtr. Biondi said he would like to have abetter financial ,tat ements ~3f the cos;.° of operating the amity and paying of bonds. '"hn Council then asked Mr. Auerbach to meet with them next Monday night at 8:00 o'clock. [qtr. McKinley and htr. Honea came bc~f:~r~: the Council asking them to ta[:e into consicJ`r- ation +.~~ change the water rat®s for trailer parks from $3.50 minimum plus all gallons over the minimum per trailers to commercial. rates pl~YS $2.00 per trai.Ier for sewer. Mr. Watson made motion to charge the commercial rate on all trailer parks, plus $2.00 per trailer for sewer, 2nd by Mr. Bishop. Motion carried unanimously. Mayor Platt read letter .:'rom Citizens Alliance sigra~~d by Norwood Hiett requesting since it appeared the City was unhappy with the tax appraisal, they file suit against the school board and the tax appraisal firm. And a letter commending the City Council's action in terminating a City Employee who is also a. macnber of the Kennedaie School Board, and this action be fine.].. ivtayrir c latt said thought the city owed this employee respect, that he was not terminated, bat resigned. Pete T<irkpatrick asked the petition b e read and put in minutes, asked to read the names ;.n the petition and if it represented the majority of the people in Kennedale. Mr. Martin said Pete had talked with hirn and asked f_or the truth; Mr. Martin told Pete he thought it was the feeling of the majority of the Council that he resigned. Mr. Fearce with Adams Construction Co. came before the Council saying they were doing construction work on 287 and Kennetlale Sublett and asked the City to furnish rooter. They had been buying water from Arlington, but they were having =water prob- lems. After some discussion ~Iz. Watson made motion they put up a $350.00 meter deposit and sell them water at 50 cents per thousand, 2nd by Mr. Martin. Motion carried unanimously, stipulating with option to cut it off if effects our water supply . Mr. Marshall was late and when informed of the change in water rates for the trailer parks, asked the Council if the would like for him to follow through with the suit of the accumulated municipal charge. Mr. Watson made motion to follow through and col- lect the delinquent municipal charge. Mr. Sishop 2nd motion, motion carried unani- mously. Mayor Platt read letter from Frees? and Nichols, recommending the City pay Smith Co. $24,000.00, 2nd by Mr. Martin; carried unanimously. Mayor Platt then handed his resignation as Mayor to the Secretary, stating it had been a pleasure working with the people, but had given it serious thought; best to resign due to his work.
