REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
APRIL 8. s 97~.
Mayor Platt assembled the meeting at 7x35 P. M. Council members present were John J.
Biondi Jr, A. ~. Bolin, J. H. Martin and Charles Knotts.
The minutes from the previous meetings were read and approved.
Mayor Platt xead letter from Freese, Nichols & Endress recommending we pay Langford
Drilling Co. $74,164.00 for drilling the Trinity xell, Mr Martin made motion 2nd by
Mr. Bolin to waive the penalty, motion carried unaniously.
Mr. Martin made motion to pay the noted off on the old police car 2nd by Mr. Bolin
motion carried unaniously.
Mrs Marshall read resolution 71-3 ,ea.vanising the election returns, after the Council
reviewed the returns, Mr. Biondi made motion to adopt Resolution 71-3 2nd by Mr. Bolin
motion carried unaniously.
Mr. Marshall then administrated the oath of office to Mrs. Inez Keithley, J. H. Martin
and B. J. Watson for a two year term to serve on the City Council and Bill Bishop for
one year term. Mr. Knotts and Mr. Bolin stepped down, the new Councilmen then took
their chairs. Mayor Platt expressed his thanks and appreciation to the out going
Councilmen for their service and time.
Mr. Martin made motion to pay Langford Drilling Co. $74,164.00 2nd by Mr. Watson
motion carried unaniously.
Mayor Platt informed the Council xe had been without a Police Chief for about a month
and half, but felt it would be better to wait until the new Council to appoint a new
Chief. After reviewing the application, the Council agreed to call a special meeting
Monday night April 12, at 7100 P. M. to discuss this further and asked all City
employees to be present.
Mr. Bishop made motion to nominate John J. Biondi Jr, as Mayor Pbo-Tem, Mr. Biondi
said he was out of town every day and felt should have some one that cools devote
more time to bt. Mr. Bishop withdrew his motion, Mrs. Keithley made motion to nominate
J. H. Martin Mayor Pro-Tem 2nd by Mr. Biondi, motion carried unaniously.
Pete Kirkpsrick informed the Council of a request from Mr. Colton who resides out side
of our City limits asking to be connected on to the City Water, after a small discuss
usion . Mr. Watson made motion those who resides out of side of the City limits pap
$5,00 minimun rate for 2500 gallons and 90 cents for every thousand gallons ofer the
minimun. Mr. Bishop 2nd motion, motion carried unaniously, The Council asked these
people be notified.
The Council agreed to discontinue Charles Shyltes water well lease.
Mr. Watson made motion to adjourn, 2nd by Mr. Martin, meeting adjourned 8:50 P. M:
