Mayor Childres assembled the meeting at 7:30 P. M. Rev, Paul McSpadden gave the invocation
Roll was called, Council members present were Mrs. Inez Roy, Mayor Childres, Stanley
Jernigan, Bill Bishop and B. J. Watson. Steve Radakovich being the only absentee.
The minutes from the previous meetings were read and approved.
Mr. Marshall read ordinance 92-9. eleminating any more houses to be moved in the
cooperate city limits of Kennedale. Mr. Watson made motion to adopt ordinance 72-9
2nd by Bill Bishop, motion carried unanimously. Mayor Childres advised the Council
xe had three outstanding permits issued, txo of them were small houses, but they would
bring them up to the 1000 square feet as required.
Kenneth Pearce appeared before the Councils stating he had purchased 3 acres on Hwy
287 East and had planned on building 10 commercial bldgs to start with, They would be
metal bldg:, 50 X 100, 70 X 100, and 30 X 50 that he already had two of them rented,
one for a feed store and one for a garage. asked the Council to run a 6" water line
and install two fire plugs, Mayor Childres said Norman Burris had measured and would
take approximately 1275 feet of pipe and with the fire plugs would be approximately
$2,400,00 Mr. Pearce stated he had planned on opening a road in the center and he
xould run the 6" line himself. Mayor Childres advised he xould have to check with the
State Highway Dept and get permission to bore under the Highway.
Mayor Childres asked the Council to appoint a planning & conning board, he had con-
tacted five men who had agreed~,to serve on the board, Don Lyon, R. E. Flowers George
Robert, Don Evan and Rickey Billingsley. or perhaps they might have some one they
would like to serve. Mr, Bishop made motion to appoint the above for the planning and
conning board, 2nd by Mr. Jernigan, motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Childres said he would like to discuss the we.11 and pump and storage tank. He
had talked with Don Dickens and Mr. Dickens had contacted with the Reda pump Co. in
Tulsa, and he recommended a different type pump, felt should send it back in exchange
as we wtill had 40,°~ warranty for another 30 days. Mr. Watson inquired of the $800.00
bid we had sent in for the 55,000.00 storage tank. Mayor Childres advised it was
rejected but might be .able to puchase it for $1,000.00 After some discussion, Mr.
Watson made motion to exchange the pump and purchase the storage tank, 2nd by Mrs.
Roy, motion carried unanimously.
Karl Halverson gave a monthly report on the police dept. and said has problems with
the teen agers~ fighting, smoking marijuana and taking pills asked for a 90 day
curfew of any one under the age of 21 years. Sunday rhgouth Thursday 11:00 P. M.
until 6:00 A. M. Friday and Saturdays 12:00 midnight until 6:00 A. M. Mr. Watson
made motion have the Attorney draw up an Ordinance on a ninety day trial bases
2nd by Mr. Bishop, motion carried unanimously.
Paul Mathis advised the Council the Auditors had completed their annual report
and he would start on the preliminary budget and should have it complete within a
week. He Also said he had bout 40 changes on the tax roll but it xas complete with the
exception of one or two, then he xould send letters out and invite people to come in
and discussed their taxes and if they couldn't reach an agreement, would have a
Equalisation board.
Mr. Watson made motion to adjourn 2nd by Mrs. Roy, meeting adjourned at 9:15 P. M.
