06.29.1972 CC MinutesSPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL 563 June 29, 1972 Mayor Childres assembled the meeting at 7:30 P.M. Roll was called; council members present were B. J. Watson, Bill Bishop, Stanley Jernigan, Steve Radakovich and Inez Roy. The reading of the minutes from the previous meeting was dismissed. Mr. Marshall read Ordinance 72-8, canvassing election returns from the June 24, Sewer Bond Election. After the Council members reviewed the returns, Mr. Radakovich made motion to adopt Ordinance 72-8, 2nd by B. J. Watson; motion carried unanimously. Mayor Childres advised the Council that he had received the packages from Freese, Endress and Nichols with which to make application for Federal Grant and Aid. The Council needed to pass a resolution authorizing the Mayor to sign the applications for Federal Grant and Aid. Mr. Marshall read Resolution 72-8. Mrs. Roy made motion to adopt Resolution 72-8, 2nd by B. J. Watson; carried unanimously. Mayor Childres asked Mr. Marshall to check with Bob Nichols to see if an Industrial Waste Ordinance would be needed, and report at the next regular Council Meeting. Mayor Childres advised the Council that a Mr. Gene Ridley had applied for a permit to operate a motorcycle trail ride on Valley Lane. After discussing the issue, the Council decided to have Mr. Ridley appear before them at the next regular council meeting. Mr. Marshall asked for authority to dismiss the Fincher Bros. suit. In our con- tract with them it was agreed if they would level the ground and take only a certain amount of dirt, the City would dismiss the suit. The Council agreed for the suit to be stopped.
