04.24.1972 CC Minutes55 6 SPECIAL MBETING OF THE KSNNEDALE CITY COLA~iCIL April 24, 1972 r li Mayor Childres called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M. Council members present were Mrs. Inez Keithly, Mr. Steve Radakovich and Mr. Stanley Jernigan. Mr. B. J. Watson absent. Mayor Childres asked Mr. Nichols to come before the Council and present plans concerning sewer treatment plant and sewer systems. Mr. Nichols brought plans for connecting sewer syst+ea~ with the City of Ft. Worth and installation of sewer lines in two sections of city to be installed in phases. After discussion of plans and methods of financing the Council stated it would be best to proceed with plans foz connecting sewer with the Fort Worth system at an approximate cost of $43,000.00 a distance of 1500 feet to the outfall of the Fort Worth line, and to study further the plans for severing the other areas of the City. Mr. Nichols stated the contract for connecting with Fort Worth had been pre- pared and was more or less a standard contract. Mayor Childres stated the City could submit plan for connecting sewer with Fort Worth, in the near future, to the Texas Water Quality Control Board meeting to be held on April'~5fih, and proposals for installation of additional sewer lines after bond election. Mayor Childres asked Mr. Nichols when he would have engineering data completed on sewer proposals to obtain exact cost of area proposed for the sewer lines. Mr. Nichols stated they should have the information within a week. Mrs. Boyd requested a part time employee at a rate of $1.60 per hour in the water dept. to learn operation of billing and crediting procedures to be used during vacations and during absence of Myra Burke due to surgery. Mrs. Keithly made motion, due to emergency nature, to employ part time clerk at $1.60 hr. rate. Motion 2nd by Mr. Radakovich, motion carried unanimously. Mr. Marshall then brought letter from U. S. District Court in Illinois, con- cerning discounts on fleet purchase price of automobiles. Mr. Marshall ad- vised he would answer letter stating the City desired to be represented in the class suit by the Attorney General's office.
