The minutes. of the previous were read a.nd approved,
Mr, Car~.ahers came before the Co~.incil, requestir_V the City to contirve pay~.ng the
Electric bi1.1 for ±he lighting of the little League Baseball. Field, Mr, Biondi made
motion. to pa.y for. electric bill for_ the year_ of 1.972, Cnd by Mr, Tyson. motion carried
unanimossly.
Mrs. Rhone came before the Council. requesting a spee~3 zone siegn on enterinP the City
limits on Dick Pri^.e Road, .4nd. a permanent school zone sign on New Hope Road. before
entering Highway ~,~7, After di scussion, Mr, Biondi made motion to gra.rt this request,
?nd bar Mr, Tyson, moti on carried unanimously.
Mayor Martin discussed Ordinance No. b8-3, concerninv trusses in metal buildings
stating present Ordinance calls for metal trusses on,y. He requested Ordinance be amended
to allow the use of wooden trusses stating he had been advised wooden trusses are
sa,fter than metal trusses. Mr. Tysone made motion to amend Ord b8-3 to allow the use
of wooden trusses in metal buildings, ?_nd by Mr. Watson, motion carried unanimously.
Mr, Honea and Mr. McKinley were asked to come before +he Council to discuss the
Municipal Trailer charge levied against Mobile Home Parks Operators. Mr. Honea and
Mr. McKinley requested this charge be eliminated. question was raised by the Council
if amending Ordinance for leving tax would effect lawsuit filed by Mr. Honea and Mr.
McKinley. Mr. Marshall advised Ordinance could be amended with no effect on the
suit because the court had already upheld the charge in favor of the City. Motion
mas made by Mrs. Keithley to table action on municial trailer charge for. one month,
2nd by Mr. Watson. Motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Martin stated the Council need to take action on two elections. The adoption
of Ord.72-3, canvassing the vote of election of merging of the City of Kenredale with
the City of A.rl.ington was discussed. Mr, Tyson made motion to reject Ord. 72-3 2nd by Mr.
Watson, Mr. Keithley and Mr. Bishop voted against, 3 for two agains motion carried.
The Municipal Election of April 1, 1972 was taken up by the Council. Mr. Watson challenged
the seating of Bill Bishop for the ensuing term of office, stating.: Mr, Bishop does not
live in the City limits. Mr. Bishop then stated he had nn intentions of taking the
oath for the seat on the Co?zncil. He further stated he did not. desire refund of taxes he h~
ha.d paid on property outside of the Cit,•sT limits.
Mr, Marshall then read Ordinance 7?-4~ Municipal Election, of April 1, 19"' nor "~ayor
and Council members, after which election. talley sheets were canvanssed., The tall.ey
sheets were approved. Mr, Keithley made motion to adopt Ord. 72-!~ 2nd b;.' Mr, Wa±son,
motion carried unanimously,
Mayor Martin rea letter froT Texas Water C,~ntrol Board which requested. a representive
frog: the City t.o be present at a hearing to be held in Austin on April 25th, 1972,
concerning water and sewer condition in the City.
Mr. Bryan, Fire Marshall of the Kennedale Volunteer Fire Dept „ came before the Council
requesting the Council to .further amend Ord, 68-3 ro provide 3/4~ sheet rock every
30 feet en wooden trusses to provide fire walls to prevent fires from spreadingin
buildings using wooden trusses. Council agreed this should be in amendment to be drawn.
Mayor Martin, Nr. Biondi, Mr. Tyson and Bill Bishop then retired from their chairs of
office. Mr, Marshall administrated the Oath of Office to N. T. Childress as Mayor
for two year Term, Steve Radakovi.ch Councilman for two year term and Stanley Jerningan
councilman for one year term.

Mr. ?ii.shop then presented petition with signatures of property owners for annexation
of the portion of property in lot 7 'al. ~T, Boaz addition not. within the cooperate
7.imits of the City. of J~'enned.ale. Herequ.ested the 8i.ty bear all the legal. fees inc~.~rred in
annexation, Mr. Marshall then presented Resolution 72-~ for se±t.ing a. hearing for
annexation of propert~r described. in Mr, Bishop's petition, Mr, Radakovich Trade motion
to adopt Resolution 7?-5 and to include payment. of fees inc~.~rred, 2nd by Mr, Watson,

Mr. Marshall suggested the Ci+.y obtain an accurate map of the City limits, if possible,
Mayor Childres said the Council weu.1._d look into the possibility of having a new map
prepared..
M:~yor Childres then asked M.r, McMahon to furnish information concerning bends for
water and sewer system, Mr. McMahan advised the Council the City has X30,000.00
in bonds they could sell now and ~2?5,000 i.n bonds could be voted on the present tax
structure and obtain matching Binds for sewer a.nd ;rater development.
Mr. Radakovich asked if the fi2'S,000 in bonds could. be voted. without any increase in
±axes, Mr, McMahon advised. him they could.
Mr, McMahon then presented request, for extension of hi.s present contract wi+,h the
City for a period of 18 months, Mr. Marshall read the request, Mrs. Reithley made

Mr. Radakovich requested ti,rs. ?3oyd, Ci.t;r Seer.etar~,, to have a list prepared of all
people on septic tanJcs a.nd their. lora.tion and availability of sewer service to those
people. Mr, Radakovich suggested the people having trouble with their septic tanks
and unable to have them repaired that the water dept give them assistance in getting
the septic tanks repaired, using City employees and equipment.
