REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL,

Mayor Mart.i_n assembled the meeting the meeting at 7:30 P. M. Council members present
were Mrs. Inez Keithley, John J, Biondi Jr, Marshall Tyson, Bi11 Bishop and B. J.
Watson.
The minutes of the previous were read and after correction stating Bob Samule did
repair the vehicle but did not replace the wind sheild, The minutes were then approved
Four members of the zoning board met with the Council and reviewed the application of
Kenneth Harris, asking for a change in zoning classification, from A. Residental to
C. Multipy for the purpose of building two duplex on Susan Drive. Mrs Edna Billingsley
and Mrs. John Billingsley who lives on Linda Road was opposed of duplex's in Gay
Daughters. The zoning Board advised the Council they would send them a copy of their
recommendations, '
Boob Powers with Texas Elects°~.c Service Co. appeared before the Council asking for a

$1.00 per month, and would be less that the rate ten years ago. Mr, Bishop made
motion to grant this request, 2nd by Mr, Watson, motion carried unanimously.
Bob Samuels came before the Council saying he wanted to discuss police business
stating he had repaired a car for a Mr. Jordon in Arlington and the Chief gave
him a citation for no inspection sticker on his car , asked the Council to void the
ticket or he would get a lawyer, saying Mr., Jordon explained to the Chief he had
just had the car repaired and. was enrout to have it inspected. Saying he would be
back with a petition. The Chief of Police was called in and asked h' - ~.rersion of this
citation. The Chief said hesaid he hay? stoped Mr_, Jordon on Kenne~?ale Sublett Rd
and Little school and Lave him a ticket for no inspection. sticker, Mr, T~Jatson asked
for the February report of the citations given in Feb, The Chief stated the day
shift gave 94, evenirt shift 41, relief 52 and midnight shift 9 making a total of
196 citations issued in February. Mr. Watson said he wanted each policeman to do hi s
job but these figures prove this is no speed trap. Mr. Tyson advised Mr.. Samuels
if he would go before the Judge and the condition are as he says was sure the Judge
would dismiss the ticket. He didn't feel the Council or Mayor should enter into this
as we were paying the Judge for this.
Mr. Marshall read Ordinance 72-4 annexating the Anderson property. N1r. Tyson made
motion to adopt Ordinance 72-4 2nd by Mr. Keithley, motion carried unanimously.
Mr. Marshall then advised the Council he had prepared Ordinance 72-3 cavanising
the election returns. Mr. Tyson recommended postphone the cavanising the returns
until the Council could meet, He felt there was some discreptancy in the voting.
The Council agree to meet at 7:00 P. M. on March 14th to canvass the returns. Mr,
Biondi said the City was trying to prepare a City roster of all. qualified voters.
Sharon Gilley was present and asked Mayor Martin about the sewaee problems they were
having in Turners Acres. Mayor Martin told he the Chief of Foli_ce and City Health
Officer would. be out the next morining and investigate it.
Mr, Watson made motion Ida, Flake take the absentee votes 2nd. by my Tyson, motion
carried unanimously.
