REGULAR MBBTING OF THB KBNNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBBR 13, 1973
Mayor Children assembled the meeting at 7:35 P. M. Bro. Alan Hall gave
the invocation. Roll was called. Council members present were George
Lowery, Steve Radakovich, Mayor Childres, Stanley Jernigan, Bill Bishop
and Lloyd Blanscet. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and
approved as read.
Mr. McAllister, of the Tarrant County Planning Board and Mr. Howard
McDaniel, with the Soil Conservation Service came before the council.
they presented slides of various areas in the Fort Worth Area which
shows what lactc of proper soil analysis in building causes. They wanted
to know if we wanted to participate in their program of soil conser-
vation. The council did not agree to do so at this time. Mayor
Childres said we need to adopt ordinance 73-8. Mr. Lowery made the
motion, seconded by Mr. Radakovich. The motion carried unanimously.
Mz. Marshall read a letter from the County Health Department stating
that we should adopt Resolution 73-8 which is the regulation and re-
gistration of private sewage system in the City of Kennedale. Mr.
Childres asked for a motion, Mr. Blanscet made the motion, seconded by
Mr. Bishop. The motion carried unanimously. The Resolution was
signed by Mr. Childres and Mrs. Templeton and the City Seal affixed.
Mr. Halverson came before the council to discuss his radio system. He
says his radio is phasing out. He Mentioned a Federal Grant System
that would pay most of it. Our cost would be approximately $1700.00.
It would cost $100.00 more to connect the Fire Dept. with this. they
also discussed buying another police car, but no action was taken on
this. The Mayor maintained a motion that we make application for the
radio. Mr. Lowery made the motion, seconded by Mr. Blanscet. Three
voted for, one against and Mr. Radakovich abstained from voting. ?he
motion carried.

Mr. C. L. Bowlin, owner of Tri States Foundry came before the council
to clear up his zoning problem. He wants to move his business from
Dallas to Kennedale, but it will require a zoning change to G
Industrial. After a lengthy discussion and counciling from Mr. Marshall,
Mr. Children asked the council if they wanted to adopt the present
zoning map which has Mr. Bowlin's property zoned G Industrial. This
map has a pencilled G on it. Mr. Blanscet made the motion to adopt
Ordinance 73-9, ratifying this map as the official zoning map of the
City of Kennedale. Mr. Bishop seconded the motion. The notion
carried unanimously. The map will be reproduced on a 1" to 400
scale. Mayor Childres maintained a motion to adjourn, Mr. Lowery
made the motion, seconded by Mr. Blanscet. The meeting adjourned at
10:30 P.M.
