Mayor Childres assembled the meeting at 7:35 P,M, Bro. Don Taylor gave the
invocation. Members present were George Lowery, Steve Radakovich, Mayor Childres,
Stanley Jernigan, Pat Turner, Bill Bishop was absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read.
Mr, Anderson came before the cound 1 to advise them that he had done what Mr,
Burris and Mr. Radakovich had told him to do to the plumbing. Mr. Burris
confirmed this. Mr. Anderson estimated that it would take approximately ninety
(90) days to complete the big house, The small house will have to be enlarged
to meet the minimum square footage requirement. Mayor Childres recommended
that we accept Mr. Anderson's application for annexation, Mr, Radakovich made
the motion to accept his petition for annexation, seconded by Mr, Turner, The
four councilmen present voted to accept this petition. The motion carried.
Mr, Mark Love, with Tarrant County Planning Department, advised the counci 1 that
he had just returned from Washington. He was in a meeting there and was advised
that Tarrant County will get $4,000,000.00. He asked that the City of Kennedale
join with the rest of the County in this program. He said the Mayor's of the
Cities participating would have a part in deciding how the money will be spent.
Kennedale would have 1/33rd of a share in deciding how the money will be spent.
This will not cost Kennedale anything. Mr. Love said the County would not be able
to control what would be done in the City. Mayor Childres maintained a motion
to adopt Resolution #'74-9, regarding Kennedale's participation in Tarrant County's
application to HUD, Mr. Lowery made the motion, seconded by Mr. Radakovich.
Mr. Radakovich, Mr. Lowery, Mr. Jernigan and Mr. Turner all voted for the
adoption of Resolution #74-9, The motion carried.
Mr, Verdecanna was not present.
Mr,Mathis presented his financial report.
Mr. Radakovich advised the council that Mayor Childres had lost several days
from work, due to meetings and the trial, and that he would like to see the City
reimburse him for this. Mr. Radakovich made a motion that the Council reimburse
the Mayor, or whoever should represent the Mayor, for expenses and/or lost time
on City business, seconded by Mr, Jernigan, Mr, Lowery, Mr, Radakovich, Mr.
Jernigan and Mr, Turner voted to accept this motion. The motion carried,
Mayor Childres gave the council a report on the meeting he attended in Austin
regarding the sewer grant.
Mayor maintained a motion to adjourn, Mr. Lowery made the motion, seconded by
Mr, Turner. The meeting adjourned at 9:10.
