08.08.1974 CC Minutes621 Regular Meeting of the Kennedale City Council August 8, 1974 Mayor Childres assembled the meeting at 7:30 P.M. Bro, Alan Hall gave the invocation. Council members present were George Lowery, Steve Radakovich, Mayor Childres, Stanley Jernigan, Bill Bishop and Pat Turner. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved as read. Item #2 was discussed first. Beth Loonney explained the Southeast Community action program. Sherri Brewer told the Council about their Day care Center program. Mrs. Brewer has the Carousel Care Center at 328 W. Mansfield High- way. Item # 5, Re-wiring of City Hall, was discussed next. Mr. Mathis gave a report of the estimates he received. He also advised the council of the condition of the wiring. The tax office and Police Department have a major overloading problem and improper rounding. Roberts Electric gave a bid of $275.00 and Stovall Electric bid 250.00. These bids include a new Four (4) tube florescent light for the Police Department. Mayor Childres made the motion to accept Stovall Electric's bid and get it fixed. Mr. Radakovich made the motion, seconded by Mr. Bishop. The motion carried unanimously. Mayor Childres recomended we paint the City Hall inside and out. Mr. Ra- dakovich made the motion, seconded by Mr. Lowery. The motion carried un- animously. The meeting was recessed at 8:00 P.M, to watch President Nixon's resignation speech. The meeting resumed at 8:20 P,M. Item # 3 was discussed next. Mr. Marshall asked for verification of some things in the Electrical, Building, and plumbing codes. Bill Arber, the Building inspector, was not present. The wrecker ordinance amendments were checked by Mr. Marshall and some points in question were verified. Item # 4, Departmental reports, was discussed next. Mr. Mathis asked for the Council's signatures giving permission to the First National Bank of Fort Worth for the withdrawal of the Treasurery Bills we have and to re- invest them for us. Mayor Childres asked for a motion to approve the re- quest for withdrawal of securities held by The First National Bank of Fort Worth under joint safekeeping receipts. Mr. Turner made the motion, seconded by Mr. Lowery. The motion carried unanimously. Mr. Mathis gave the fin- ancial report, Gerald Bryan, Fire Chief, left to answer a fire call and did not return in time to give his report at this meeting. Mayor Childres made a motion to adjourn.
