PUBLIC HEARING OF KENNEDALE CITY COUNCIL
January 24, 1974
The meeting was called to order at 7x35 P.M. Mr. Marshall gave the invocation.
Roll was called. Members present were George Lowery, Steve Radakovich, Mayor
Childres, Stanley Jernigan, Bill Bishop and Lloyd Blanscet.
Mr. Mathis gave a report on the request for zoning change by Mr, Gillespie.
Docket # 114 73-4, to be re-zoned from "A" & "E" to "G" Industrial. The counci 1
discussed the zoning application Fee. The Mayor asked Mr. Mathis to check the
other cities around us to see if our $50.00 fee is in line with theirs. Mayor
Childres asked for a motion on the zoning petition. Mr. Jernigan made the motion
to approve the application, seconded by Mr. Blanscet. The motion carried un-
animously.
Mr. Marshall presented the Resolution 74-3 which appoints Sue Geyer as assistant
Secretary and the ratification and confirmation of the prior appointment of Evelyn
I. Templeton as City Secretary. Mayor asked fora motion to accept this Res-
olution. Mr. Radakovich made the motiion, seconded by Mr. Lowery. The motion
carried unanimously.
Mayor Childres recommended that the thoroughfare map previously presented by Mr.
Dave Farrington be approved. Mr. Lowery made the motion, seconded by Mr. Blans-
cet. The motion to accept Resolution 74-4 was unanimous.
Mayor Childres recommended that the City purchase a pumper tank to pump septic
tanks for the people, free of charge, until we get the sewer line in. The council
agreed to this. They would use the old water truck for this,
Mr. Ralph K. Bell came requesting an Emergency Variance in his zoning. He has
the property at 1115 E, Mansfield Hwy. He has built a metal building which is
partially in commercial and partially in residential. He does not have a
building permit. He wants all the property to be re-zoned commercial. He was
under the impression that it was already zoned commercial due to a meeting that
he had with a previous council in 1971. Mayor asked for a motion to authorize the
Inspector to give a temporary Inspection and if it is in accordance with our
Building Codes, (disregarding the zoning code) to authorize temporary utility
connections pending his application for zoning change and agreement to pay proper
permit fee, if and when, the zoning change is granted. Mr. Lowery made the
motion, seconded by Mr. Bishop. The motion carried unanimously.
Mayor maintained motion to adjourn. Mr. Bishop made the motion, seconded by Mr.
Lowery. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 P. M.
