09.11.1975 CC Minutes1 Page 1 of 2 REGULAR MEETING OF THE KENNED[aLE CITY COU!VCIL September 11, 1975 mayor Childres assembled the meeting at 7:35 PM. Br.o< F~al.l gave the invocation. Members present were George bowery, Steve Radakovich, Mayor Childres, Stanley Jernigan, Sill Bishop and Pat Turner. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved as read. Mr. Jerry Foreman and Mr. Larry Hunter presented Texas Electrics proposal for a rate increase, to be effective December 1, 1975, and to be applied to the customers meter readings on or after January 1, 1976. They are asking for a 94~ increase. Mr. Foreman filed. a tenative agreement, in the form of an alternate ordinance, with the City Secretary. Mr. Jack. Yates read ordinance # 7.5-7 which is the request for the rate increase. Mayor Childres maintained a motion that the alternate agreement, ordinance # 75-7, be accepted. D4r. Radakovich made the motion to accept the alternate ordinance based on Fort Worth's decision, seconded by Mr. Bishop. The motion carried unanimously. !~"_r. Jack Yates recommended several changes to Ordinance # 75-5 which creates the office of City Administrator. Mayor Childres maintained a motion to accept the ordinance #75-5 as changed. Mr. Lowery made the motion, seconded by Mr. Bishop, The motion carried unanimously. 646 Mr. Yates provided the council with information about a retire- ment plan for him which is transferrable from one city to anothe.r< The flan discussed was consideration of The City of Kennedale paying 5l of his retirement. Mayor Childres recommended that we accept Resolution 75-9, authorizing the payment of 5% of Jack Yates salary for his retirement, A4r. Turner made the motion, seconded by b[r. Lowery. The motion carried unanimously. Mr. Yates gave a report on the status of the Sewer Grant. He advised the council that Sten III has been approved and that we received a letter this date, Sept. 11, 1975, confirming the phone call from Congressman Dale Miifords office in Washington< The departmental reports were given to the council, D?r. Radakovich advised the council of the need for a manhole at 729 Briarwood. He asked if the city was going to be responsible ~~.~ Page 2 of 2 for this. The council decided the developer should be responsible for installing the manholes and that they should be installed every SOO feAt. A?ayor Childres recommended a motion that the developer be responsible for the payment of installing manholes every SCO feet. Mr. Turner made the motion, seconded by Mr. Lowery. The motion carried unanimously. Mayor Childres recommended that the meeting be adjourned. Mr. Turner made the motion to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Lowery. The meeting adjourned at 10:10 P.bt. ...
